I stayed at Shose Farmhouse with my mom for four nights, and it was hands down our favorite accommodation during our two weeks in Tanzania. We booked the room last minute on a Sunday evening and arrived just an hour later. Despite the short notice, everything went incredibly smoothly. The staff welcomed us with such warmth, and the check-in process was seamless. Our room was beautiful - spotlessly clean, fresh, and modern, with a lovely atmosphere that made us feel instantly at home. Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast in their charming outdoor dining area. The food was delicious, with plenty of options, and we especially loved the homemade yoghurt made from milk from their own cows (which we also got to meet!). The farm-to-table experience was truly unique - they grow their own vegetables and keep chickens and cows, which adds a special touch to the stay. Although we had a packed itinerary in Moshi, we also found time to relax at the farmhouse, and it was the perfect place to do so. The peaceful surroundings and the genuine hospitality of the staff made every moment enjoyable. A special shoutout to Adeline, whose cheerful “good morning” always started our day with a smile. Benson was another highlight - he took some beautiful photos of us with Kilimanjaro in the background, right outside our room. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ismael, the assistant manager. Such a wonderful person, with a calming presence and attention to detail. He took the time to show us around the property, explaining how everything works and what they grow. He even wrote down some essential Swahili phrases for us, which was such a thoughtful gesture. To the entire team at Shose Farmhouse - asante sana! You truly go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and cared for. Your kindness, attention to detail, and the unique charm of the farmhouse made this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Moshi!

Moshi is a friendly mid sized town.

Moshi is a friendly mid sized town. The street markets are nice to visit and there are numerous day trips to experience. It is great to visit before or after your Kilimanjaro/Meru hike or safari. People are friendly and helpful here and I felt very safe.

Walk around the property. Many things to do in Moshi. Indioitaliano has the best Pizza in moshi. Be sure to get a view of Kilimanjaro. From the rooftop bar. Rafiki Supermarkets have a great selection of items. Waterforlife statue at round about on the main road. If Hostel life is for you make sure to see what Hostel Hoff has to offer.

The only reason to go to Moshi is a jumping off point for...

The only reason to go to Moshi is a jumping off point for climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and/or safari. The town itself is a working medium size town, some catering to tourism, somewhta scruffy. No nice area to walk or anything particularly interesting.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

It's a clean city, the people are very friendly and helpful. The club vibe is amazing. For Touring around and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, i recommend Fred's trekking and safaris. They are the best.

Our host Lady and the team were excellent. We were greeted with fresh juice and a warm wash cloth on arrival which was a lovely welcome. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The grounds are lovely and the lodge is close to facilities in town but easy to drive to other locations from, including the airport. The food was cooked fresh everyday and everyone enjoyed the meals. The showers were hot and swimming pool (very unexpected!) was nice and cool. We felt so well looked after I feel like I have an extended family in Moshi now.

Patricia is an excellent host. The home is in a beautiful location, on the edge of Moshi but only 5 minutes from the town. You will be able to enjoy rest and relaxation by the pool and the lovely gardens. Patricia has a fridge full of cold drinks you can purchase as well as meals. The room was outstanding, clean and spacious and exactly as described. I'd highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. 2 nights was not long enough. You will also get an amazing view of the mountain when it is clear. Thank you.

I stayed here last month for a total of three nights. I loved my stay here! The room I had was lovely, quiet and clean. The breakfast is amazing and the whole stay is such great value for money. There is a nice garden out the front and if Kilimanjaro is not covered by clouds, there is a view from the back. There is also a lovely restaurant a 5 minute walk away and Moshi town is only about a 15 minute walk. There is also a lovely Tuk Tuk driver who works for the homestay who helped me visit multiple places.
