Ameg Lodge Kilimanjaro is the perfect place for relaxing while enjoying visiting Moshi and Kilimanjaro. There are several quite spaces for relaxing, enjoying a drink or interacting with travel companions without invading any privacy of other guests. Personally, I loved the open-air SPA area where one can enjoy a massage in full privacy, while hearing the birds singing. I still dream about my massage thanks to a very kind and skilled masseuse - thank you !!! The garden is really beautiful with flowers, trees (offering refreshing shades) and beautiful harmless animal like birds, butterfly or colourful lizard. The rooms, all with their own porch, are super clean, perfectly equipped and functional with a light breeze that allows chilling down without need of air conditioning (which is also available if one wishes) and everything is in full harmony and respect of local style, culture. Last but not least, all the staff and people working at Ameg have been very kind and always smiling, welcoming and ready to help when needed, throughout our stay. THANK YOU, for the warm welcome !! I warmly recommend Ameg Lodge Kilimanjaro !!

A wonderful stay. Beautiful grounds with a garden and pool, and lots of beautiful potted plants. Lots of beautiful wood. Every detail was meticulously thought out. Attention to the guest. Klaus, the owner, was very attentive. Beds and bathrooms were decorated beautifully. Excellent cuisine. We highly recommend this apartment. The standard is very high.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Madam Jess was a good host, and they provided us with a guide, Douglas, who helped take us around town. We also enjoyed some yummy breakfast and dinner(on request). Everyone was very helpful and accommodating, we all enjoyed our stay there. I would highly recommend the property.

This was one of the best properties I ever stayed at. Located a bit away from the centre, nested in a tranquil area, the hotel is lush and very comfortable with a lovely pool and immersed in the greenery. What made my stay even more special was the staff (special shoutout to Manny, Anna and Elia) who always knew you on a first name basis making you feel at home and always looking for ways to help you and make your stay more comfortable. I recommend without hesitation and look forward to staying there again someday.

Materuni falls are wonderful.

Materuni falls are wonderful. If you go there, look out for the guides who call themselves the Materuni gang. Very lovely and happy fellows. They will even give you a name. On the flip side, while you will love the Chemka hotsprings, you should probably carry some extra cash than they advertise there. They seem to love hiking the prices depending on their mood. We discovered a 10k extra hike on arrival and they wouldn't hear anything else about our displeasure. Also, there are no literal hot springs there. You will however love their warm waters and small fish nibbling at your dead skin. Kinda ticklish but lovely.

Moshi is a friendly mid sized town.

Moshi is a friendly mid sized town. The street markets are nice to visit and there are numerous day trips to experience. It is great to visit before or after your Kilimanjaro/Meru hike or safari. People are friendly and helpful here and I felt very safe.

Walk around the property. Many things to do in Moshi. Indioitaliano has the best Pizza in moshi. Be sure to get a view of Kilimanjaro. From the rooftop bar. Rafiki Supermarkets have a great selection of items. Waterforlife statue at round about on the main road. If Hostel life is for you make sure to see what Hostel Hoff has to offer.

The only reason to go to Moshi is a jumping off point for...

The only reason to go to Moshi is a jumping off point for climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and/or safari. The town itself is a working medium size town, some catering to tourism, somewhta scruffy. No nice area to walk or anything particularly interesting.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

Kiwavi home is after just a night a real home. The managers and the staff are the best and make everything so that you enjoy and make the most out of your stay. I felt like I was part of a family. I stayed there on and off during my stay in Tanzania (visiting in between Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar) and it was alway a pleasure to come back to this place. I specially enjoyed the terrace with the view on the nice garden, sitting there to read or to take time to organize my trip.

Dee is very friendly and really helps you with getting to know Moshi! On the day we arrived she organized a city tour for us, which was really nice. The dinner at Dee’s place is also amazing, same as breakfast. Furthermore, she gave us a number of a tuktuk company who always drove us to places where we wanted to go (also very cheap). Would 100% recommend this place!
