Peachy City of Historic Importance
Home to the world’s busiest airport and a vibrant arts scene, Atlanta has an important role in US history. The gateway to the American South, it is the home of the barbecue and hundreds of peach trees that make it a surprisingly green city.
Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the main arrival point, and Booking.com has an excellent range of Atlanta hotels near the airport. However, the main sights are clustered around Downtown. Near the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol is Underground Atlanta, a shopping centre in the old underground railway.
Just north are a few hotels near Georgia Dome, a huge sports venue, and to its north-east is Centennial Olympic Park, commemorating the 1996 Olympic Games. On one edge of this park are the CNN headquarters which offer behind-the-scenes tours. Opposite is the New World of Coca-Cola where you can sample all their worldwide products. Next door is the massive Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.
In the Auburn district is Martin Luther King’s former home and church, and a museum dedicated to him and the Civil Rights movement. A few blocks south in Grant Park is the city zoo, and the Atlanta Cyclorama and museum, detailing the city’s Civil War battles.
More national history is in the Carter Center, and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, author of ‘Gone with the Wind’.

The staff consist of Sylvia. Shavon, Jarvis excellent customers service very knowledgeable of the area. Very friendly. Trust Park was within walking distance. They thank me for being Hilton reward member. The room was very clean and the bed was soooo comfortable. In the morning went downstairs for breakfast Marcell had smile on her face and brought extra favors creamery for coffee she was friendly and also knowledgeable of the area. I would definitely come back and stay again if I have Atlanta Braves tickets

People of Atlanta seem to be impatient drivers!
People of Atlanta seem to be impatient drivers! It would be very nice for people to understand that visitors from out of town have to take a little more time to acclimate themselves to all the traffic and to find their way. Kindness and understanding are always better than blowing your horn at a visitor. My granddaughter visiting from Germany had a wonderful time shopping at Lennox Square, driving around Buckhead to see the beautiful homes. We ate dinner at a wonderful restaurant, Grana, at 1835 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta was exceptional. The food was well-prepared, delicious and all the staff was amazing.

The city is boisterous, there can be too much traffic at times. The restaurants were all good. Food is served generously, people are friendly. I tried the Mexican restaurant: "No Más" where the food was awesome. I went to an Olive Garden as I always go, and another restaurant specializing in seafood, family-owned called "Baltimore Crab and Seafood." This was a 5-star food and service. I would go again and again. The restaurant "Malone", within walking distance from my hotel was my favorite. I went back there 3 more times. I always enjoy the zoo and aquarium in Atlanta. i do however think they should group people together and only let each group enter about 15-20 minutes apart to space them out a little better. It gets extremely crowded and most people do not know social distancing any longer! This made my visit very frustrating. Also, I think we all pay enough for each attraction that we should NEVER have to pay for parking! After visiting the Zoo and Aquarium and a Baseball game, I spent another $180 in parking! Atlanta has a lot to offer for all ages.
Atlanta has a lot to offer for all ages. In addition to the Zoo, Aquarium and museums, there are a lot of interesting neighborhoods to explore. Many industrial properties have been converted into restaurants, shops and living spaces. The Beltway is an excellent way to see the city. We especially enjoyed the Krog Street Market and surrounding area.
