Basically I stopped there to visit the Makers Mark Distillery. Great time there. The roads were a bit confusing, especially the round about on Stephen Foster Ave. I often found myself in the wrong lane.
Beautiful town! Lots of history. Great restaurants! Touring the distilleries was so interesting. Oscar Getz history of whiskey museum was wonderful! Mammy’s Kitchen and Old Talbott Tavern are definitely worth eating at, great buildings, food and service!
Loved the historical nature of the downtown area. Fabulous older homes in the area with beautiful architecture. Enjoyed dinner and the bourbon bar at Old Talbott Tavern. Wanted to visit a distillery in town but it was closed on Sunday.
Did not realize only a few shops were open on Sunday, next time we will arrive earlier and stay 2 nights instead of one. Took the Murder Mystery Train ride, food was delicious, staff incredible and the show was a lot of fun! Sunday lunch at Mammy's was great. Server entertaining and the food was good. The lemon meringue pie is amazingly good.
This was our fourth trip to Bardstown and probably won’t be our last. Bourbon tours (our favorite is Maker’s Mark), My Old Kentucky Home tour, the Old Kentucky dinner train, the war museums, and much more!
Great small town atmosphere. Friendly people. Great food at Mammys, Talbert Tavern, and krestos. Loved the bar atmosphere at 3rd St bar and Talberts Tavern. We did the bourbon trail then came back to this gem of a town. Must stay at Talberts Tavern for an comfy oldtime Inn that’s walkable to everywhere.
