The property is in a great location, up atop of a hill beside I-580 (leading to I-880 junction). Across the street from a Safeway, Subway, and Panda Express. The property is under new management. I’ve stayed here a few times under the new management and every stay the experience gets better. The staff are courteous and attentive. Check in has always been smooth. I’ve also always felt safe here. To be fair, It’s really far out the way for travelers without cars, minimal foot traffic. Ride sharing helps if you’re not driving. I work at a car factory and I also do gig work but live out of town. This is my favorite place book for extended stays when I’m in the Castro Valley area for work! I believe I get my values worth, I spend most of my time working and I always look forward to a safe affordable place to book which is why I stay at the Econo Lodge Castro Valley.

Castro Valley is a good place to base any trip to the Bay area. We were visiting family that live in Alameda and Castro Valley was only 25 minutes away (on a weekend) and had lots of restaurants to chose from.

The location was really the only positive. There was easy access to everything. the cleaning staff was really sweet. the price was okay in comparison to other hotels however it was overpriced for the quality of the place.
