I was disappointed that all the stores closed at 6:00 pm other than LL Bean so there really wasn’t much else to do. Luckily the Maine brewery is opened until 8:00 definitely worth a visit. We were there in July you would think that the stores would be opened later at the peak of summer. Our inn was a perfect stay with an excellent breakfast would definitely recommend to stay at the Harraseeket Inn!!!
The property is currently unavailable to guests. It is being used for other purposes. Guests should not waste their time trying to book it as they will be relocated and possibly be double or overcharged in the process, as we seem to have been. We have tried to resolve our bill but have so far had no satisfaction.
Freeport is a charming town. Great shopping and restaurants. People are very friendly and there is plenty to do. We enjoyed walking around the town and sitting on the benches and taking in the scenery! It was a great spot for a girls’ weekend!
Proximity to hike Bradbury Mountain and Wolfe Creek State Park. Excellent, bargain outlet shopping on Main Street - bring your credit card! Several good restaurants - Broad Arrow Tavern, Tuscan Bistro, and Jameson Tavern are great spots. Town is walkable, mostly because there's only really the one street 😊 But bring a car for getting out and around to state parks, Portland, Brunswick etc.
The location was great, we had a problem with our breakfast. It was supposed to be included in the price but we were told it wasn’t. I had to go back to our room and get my confirmation page to show the girl at the desk. We were then brought to a table in the dining room and the hostess told us our breakfast was not included even though it was on my confirmation page and that they were giving me a voucher for the breakfast. When we got back home I checked my visa account online and they changed me for the breakfast so I called the hotel and after being on hold for a while I was told to call back when the manager is in.
Freeport is a good stop over location for travel to other parts of Maine. It is also shopping mecca. There are several restaurants, none of which are particularly notable. The coastline is definitely worth a visit.
Freeport
We loved visiting the Freeport area and Maine Idyll Motor Court was a great place to stay for easy access to this part of the coast. It is truly vintage and had everything we needed for a comfortable night’s sleep and the kitchenette made fixing quick meals a money saver. The price is right, the convenient location made sightseeing easy, and the property surrounding was pleasant. We’d definitely stay here again!
Freeport
The location is walking distance to fine dining and shops. The design and layout of the home encompasses crisp comfort and fine art. The room was very quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was unmatched. Local farms and makers are definitely appreciated and supported here. I recommend casa alchimia to everyone looking for a boutique get away in beautiful Freeport Maine.
We always stay at this hotel when in town. Great location to shopping and restaurants. It's always been clean, usually quiet and we feel safe here. We really like the solid surface floor remodel that was done a few years back, much more sanitary than carpet for sure.
This was the perfect stop-over for comfort & value on the way up the coast. Nice room, comfy bed & great pillows :-); & a short uncomplicated drive into cute Freeport town. As a solo traveler who wants nice, but not over-priced, this was great.

I booked a night at the Brewster House for my mother and a friend so that they could attend my son’s wedding (Because of the pandemic I couldn’t attend from abroad). Kelleigh answered all our questions and accommodated our request for my son and his new wife to join them for breakfast!! Everyone loved the delicious food and the beautiful rooms in the lovely old house. The beers from the brewery were also appreciated. If I ever make it to Maine, I’ll definitely stay here!
