It's a great place to shop, with L.L. Bean being the flagship store. It covers a very large area, and has different sections such as hunting and fishing, camping, home, canoeing, in fact anything "outdoors" you may be looking for. I was a bit disappointed that the variety of other brand name stores wasn't great, but all in all, it was a great experience.
Lots of local outlet shopping and dining to explore. Close to Portland as well, which has unlimited dining options. Not as much to do here during the off season but the value is way higher and way les tourists!
Be aware that they will charge you different prices for different nights according to the front desk all depending on what night of the week it is. Apparently Tuesday nights are more expensive than Monday nights. Sounds a little bit sleazy if you ask me
A great location to stay in Maine. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We got upgraded to a different bigger room to accommodate my dog. The rooms were clean and very nice. A bunch of restaurants nearby and shopping outlets!!
Having a car is nice but there is good shopping and restaurants in walking distance from where we stayed at Harraseeket Inn. The restaurant at Harraseeket Inn was so good we could have had every meal there. It is easy to get to Portland for a harbor tour from Freeport. We made a drive to the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden. It is well worth the trip. The gardens are gorgeous and there are woodsy walking trails along the coastal shore with benches to take it all in.
I was disappointed that all the stores closed at 6:00 pm other than LL Bean so there really wasn’t much else to do. Luckily the Maine brewery is opened until 8:00 definitely worth a visit. We were there in July you would think that the stores would be opened later at the peak of summer. Our inn was a perfect stay with an excellent breakfast would definitely recommend to stay at the Harraseeket Inn!!!
Freeport
We're from the 1000 Islands New York area and it reminded me of the motor courts that were prevalent back in the earlier days of the area. the cabin was quaint and spacious and we would have liked to stay longer and utilized the kitchen facilities. Our primary goal was to visit the L.L. Bean store in Freeport and we didn't have much time as we were passing through. at some point we hope to return to the area, explore a little, and stay at the Maine Idyll Motor Court!
B breakfast was great the room was great I guess the guests in the other room slamming doors at 12:00 in the morning wasn't great and the noise from the turnpike wasn't great but the hotel was very clean and work as a very pleasant and helpful I couldn't get internet and the first night of the second night I asked for help and the lady helped me but the facility is a very very clean and very pleasant
Located in Freeport downtown near all the shops and outlets. Walking distance to all attractions. The hotel is a typical Hilton hotel. There is a bar where you can get some food at night. Adequate but not a restaurant per se.
It was close to the main street of Freeport and literally next to our favorite brewing company: Maine Beer Co. This place was also dog friendly which is really hard to come by when looking for hotels.

We changed 5 hotels on our 7 days trip and here was the most welcoming staff, quiet room and amazing breakfast! Should mention also nice facilities like heated pool and cozy fireplace outside.
The hotel was a good price and one of the only available options for that date. It was clean and had larger room which was nice. The breakfast was also a bonus.
