The Mauian Hotel, hotel in Lahaina

Situated on one of Maui's most beautiful beaches on Napili Bay, The Mauian Hotel offers a variety of activities and friendly services.

This was the feel I was looking for during our entire 2 week trip. Ground floor, greenery, on the beach. It was absolutely everything that I had expected of Hawaii.

The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, Ka'anapali, hotel in Lahaina

The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, Ka'anapali is situated between North Ka’anapali Beach and the mountains of West Maui.

It was a hopeless faulty towers experience where staff were both incredibly unhelpful, unwilling to assist, didn’t know what they were doing etc. I really would not recommend this accomodation as value for money. You expect at this price range a luxury experience and it was anything but.

The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North, hotel in Lahaina

Facing the beachfront, The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North offers 4-star accommodation in Lahaina and features a fitness centre, garden and restaurant.

I liked the location of the resort. The Concierge and fronts desk staff were nice. The cat refuge was great. The store was a good place for the little things and coffee.

We have always loved Lahaina so that sight of the fire devastation was heartbreaking. We spent the majority of our time towards Kahana. I don't think a review of Lahaina at this point in time is appropriate.

While Lahaina is still mostly closed due to the devastating fire, the Cannery Shopping Center, including a Safeway, was open for business. It's heartbreaking to see all the destruction. Starting to see some rebuilding which is encouraging.

We booked and paid for a 2-bedroom apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a pull-out sofa at The Kaanapali Alii By Maui Resort Rentals . When we arrived at the Resort, we were assigned a 1-bedroom apartment with a den that had a bed and a bathroom with a small pull-out sofa bed that did not offer privacy to the other couples that were traveling with us. The 1-bedroom was infested with lizards, cockroaches and pests running around the bedroom. The next day Maui Resort agreed to move us in a 2-bedroom apartment, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a pull-out sofa bed. However, we realized that night, the sofa bed was not a pull-out sofa as promised. Maui Resort provided us with a twin size floor mattress. I explained we were 60-years old and cannot not fit on a twin-sized floor mattress, and it would be difficult for us to get in and out of the floor mattress. Maui Resort asked us to return to the pests infested 1-bedroom apartment if we were not happy with sleeping on the couch or the twin-sized floor mattress provided. The whole time we were there, we had to sleep on chairs and a sofa and the resort refused to accomodate us or refund us our money.

We loved the seclusion of the property .

We loved the seclusion of the property . The beach not crowded & soft sand to walk on. We spotted turtles on the beach. Great restaurant in the hotel. Nice live music every night. Friendly attentive staff.

    Napili IS NOT LAHAINA.

Napili IS NOT LAHAINA. It is actually closer to Kahana and Kapalua and everything is different than Lahaina, including the weather! It always has been, even before the devastation. It's about time the internet caught up with the tragedy of the devastating wildfires that destroyed Lahaina. You cannot even visit Lahaina anymore. It has been reduced to a barren landscape. Until there is true healing and recovery, that city should not be used as a place name for Kaanapali, Kahana, Kapalua and all of West Maui. Booking.com could certainly help by removing the word Lahaina from all of it's listings. When travelers are searching for accommodations in West Maui, there should be an acknowledgement/memorial note about the severity of the loss of lives and livelihood. We went specifically to support the only industry they have there, tourism. The surrounding communities seem to be flourishing, but there is still so much palpable pain. A woman broke down in sobs near us and shouted at a server that there should be NO SHORT TERM RENTALS allowed in the West Maui area. I feel like our short term rental was priced way too high and if tourism is the plan for recovery, something should be done about that. If pushing tourism out of the community so it can heal is the answer then, yes, cut off short term rentals. Either option is valid but trying to do both is not. I'm not giving recommendations for a place that no longer exists (questions below) and I don't have any pictures of Lahaina, because there is nothing left there. The devastation so complete, there is barely even ruins.

My stay in Lahaina was fantastic and enjoyable.

My stay in Lahaina was fantastic and enjoyable. There are just a fabulous array of activities available that one needs to be selective in prioritizing the ones that they would enjoy…here are a few that I enjoyed-visit to Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm in Kula. Their scones are fabulous as well as their aromatherapy range. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there I then spent the rest of my time snorkeling, hiking, a ‘road to HANA’ trip is a must-do, swimming around the stunning beaches in kana’apaali, Wailea, Hana, ate at the local farmer’s market, serving wholesome unadulterated, non-gmo fruits & vegetables, gulped down lots of shaved ice, relished lots of poke bowls & sushi. Such an amazing trip indeed!

everything, lovely and clean, bedding smells so nice, staff are gorgeous, good music playing in the background until 10pm a really chilled atmosphere here, loved having an outside shower each morning and looking up at the sky, if your in the tents you can hear the ocean waves it’s amazing to sleep and wake up too. I’ve absolutely loved it here, it’s also right on the beach!!

The resort felt safe, welcoming and friendly. The pool was amazing and being right on the beach made for a picturesque and relaxing atmosphere. We were there on honeymoon and everything just made it the perfect honeymoon location.
