What a find! We stayed at Yacht Haven for three nights, my only complaint is, it wasn’t long enough! We hired two houseboats next door to each other as my husband and I were on holiday with his daughter, her husband and three grandchildren. We were wanting something relaxing after a hectic week in Disney…..and we definitely found it! What a place, the houseboats were so unique and immaculately clean, also they were really well stocked, with comfortable beds and really spacious for their size. We also had the added bonus of our morning visits from the friendly Manatees. I could go on and on, but everyone needs to experience this little piece of heaven once in their lives!! 🤗

We had no idea what to expect but we loved what we found! Wow. These are fantastic houseboats in the most stunning location and they are spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped and judging by other reviews, the owner listens to feedback! (We noticed that there had been some screening between boats added for extra privacy). We stayed in late November, it was unusually chilly for the time of year, but found the accommodation to be more than comfortable despite the cooler climates. During the summer, the boats have two very good size AC units which I am sure would be very welcome. The kitchen was well stocked with amenities and a full size fridge which we made use of for a few soft drinks, milk etc for morning coffee. We had no issues with smell from the on board toilet at all and both of us used the shower - we were told about the additional bathrooms on site when we checked in but for as a couple, we certainly didn’t need to use them. Also really appreciated having a dedicated car parking space per boat. Overall a really excellent experience and nice environment, would 100% come back here.

it was the perfect location to ease us back to reality after 3 weeks in Key West. Views are breathtaking. Located next to Sunset Grille so it makes it easy to enjoy your beverage and views.

Outstanding hotel. Our room was supposed to be on the 'parking side' on the ground floor (which was not described like that on the web site). Fortunately one of the rooms could be upgraded on the sea side at the 2nd floor. We enjoyed a very nice stay in this hotel. The 'lighthouse' restaurant was excellent with an oustanding service (though very expensive...but everything comes at a price)

Marathon is much less of a tourist trap than Key West.

Marathon is much less of a tourist trap than Key West. Real people live and work there. Yet there are plenty of activities to keep one entertained. Be sure to visit the Turtle Hospital - it is worth the price of admission and it feels great to be able to contribute to their rescue of so many injured sea turtles.

Lots of water, so many beautiful restaurants, the 7 mile bridge, beautiful sunsets and sunrises. What's not to love. Only an hour from Key West. The weather was perfect for our stay. You cant get lost because face it there is only one main road. We are an old couple so we like relaxing with our little furry baby in tow. All the restaurants welcomed Maxine with open arms. She even had her own menu to pick from. You cant go wrong if you stay in Marathon.

The highlight of the trip was Key West.

The highlight of the trip was Key West. In Marathon, we found the Castaways restaurant, which was great. Porky's restaurant was within easy walking distance of our room. Some interesting sites, such as a Turtle Hospital. People were friendly.

This was the first time we stayed in Marathon and we found...

This was the first time we stayed in Marathon and we found it very enjoyable. The kids went to the aquarium and that was reasonably priced and they had a good time. There are several Jet ski rental places available. Boat rentals at Captain Pips was very reasonalble. It was convenient to get to the lower and upper keys, lots of good restaurants and right near Bahia Honda. The seaweed that has washed in smells terrible all along the keys so that doesn't matter if you are in Key West or Key Largo. Marathon has all the conveniences close by- groceries, gas, etc. Restaurants? We loved Sunset Grill. The food there was great and the kids could swim while we waited for our food. Porky's is packed every night and I'm not sure why..out of 13 of us, 13 did not care for the food. We sat too close to the live entertainment. Everyone agreed Porky's is a no.

we dined at the Sunset grill, Faro Blanco yacht club (...

we dined at the Sunset grill, Faro Blanco yacht club (Bluewater) and Mahia at Islabella on the night of our anniversary. Publix grocery was convenient to the resort. We went snorkeling on the the Sombrero reef on the Marathon Mermaid, very fun!

Marathon is quite large with a wide range of places to stay...

Marathon is quite large with a wide range of places to stay and prices. There are excellent resort hotels tucked away from the main highway, all with different characteristics. A different kind of 'vibe' from Key West. The seven-mile bridge is also a wonderful way to capture the true vista and spirit of the Keys.

A nice hotel which was comfortable and clean. Set just off the water, it was really relaxing. They provide bikes, as well as paddle boards and kayaks. They have a secluded area on the beach which you can access too. The very friendly receptionist had some great recommendations for us to do as it was raining. Would definitely recommend.

Great location and lodging was very clean. It was close by to most attractions and midway in the Florida Keys. There is also a supermarket (Publix) which is a 5 mins walk from the lodging. Beds were very soft and comfortable. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.
