Smith River Kayaks was very accommodating and had an excellent supply of sit on top kayaks and everything one would need for paddling on the local rivers, including tours or shuttle service. Brookings, Oregon was nearby with some great restaurants. On the way from Grants Pass or Medford are the Oregon Caves which were a fun place to explore, as well as Redwood forests.

We wondered what we had gotten into as we traveled past a trailer park to get to the house. We were told to come in through the garage. Don’t let any of those things keep you from staying here. Everything was wonderful and wished we could have stayed longer! Great view. of ocean. Great accommodations! Great host and hostess! Great Chinese breakfast! I enjoyed the putting green. Don’t miss this hidden gem!

It was very scenic loved the coast line very beautiful the locals all seemed very friendly hotel staff was very friendly very relaxing loved it definitely will come back you definitely want to eat at the blue water for breakfast and the hungry clam for dinner and in between stop and have a great workout at south coast fitness nice old school gym

Smith River itself is small and not of vast interest. The river estuary is beautiful with lots of wildlife. There is large casino which is a nice establishment with a very good value restaurant . The main gaming room is typical and very smokey.

We were on the property side so didn't get to enjoy the river side since we arrived so late. Just got to get a peak of it. Place was booked so no option to change sides. Next time will make sure on the other side.

The setting overlooking the mouth of Smith River was outstanding. The house was well designed for viewing the surroundings. Nice little putting green in the yard. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Our arrival dinner was OK if you don't mind eating in Casino's. That's all that was available without driving 12-18 miles to other towns. If you're physically able, it looked like a very nice location to walk the beaches.
