Relax on the large wrap-around front porch of this Long Island, New York bed and breakfast. Free Wi-Fi and daily breakfast are offered. Cedar Beach is 1 mile away. Amazing accommodation and lovely hostess/owner Flo and her daughter. They were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful! So much detail in every aspect of the home. Very quiet at night too!
Offering free bike hire and free WiFi access, Historic White Blosson House is a uniquely furnished inn located in Southold. The property features scenic gardens. The house is well located and well equipped. Mona and Mark have thought of everything you might need to self cater even providing a gas bbq, bikies and beach chairs. It is a great location to explore the North Fork of Long Island.
Located on Crescent Beach, this Shelter Island hotel features an outdoor pool overlooking the bay, a private beach, free WiFi and rooms with cable TV. The North Ferry is 2 mi away. Property location was excellent. There was a small beach and a wonderful saltwater pool! Breakfast buffet was included which was nice being there are no places within walking distance. The dinner was FABULOUS as were the cocktails! You almost do not have to go off the property if you don't want to. The beds were comfy. This is a quiet getaway. Also, the staff are mostly young ladies and gentlemen who I found to be very pleasant and helpful.
Set on the North Fork in Greenport, 98 mi from New York City, Sound View Greenport features a seasonal outdoor pool and views of the Long Island Sound. This is a lovely, cozy place to stay right on the beach. The location is exactly what we wanted, however; there is not a lot to do close by in the Fall / Winter... unless you are happy with just relaxing and enjoying the nature as we did! The breakfast was delightful... in fact, impressive! The atmosphere was quaint and cozy... a really lovely place to stay!
Southold appeared to be a very nice place to visit. Most of our time was on the ocean deep sea fishing, but each afternoon the Township of Southold and neighboring towns and hamlets was abuzz with activity. People busy living their lives. Eating, drinking, and being merry, taking no note of the overall world conditions around them.
Southold is my home town and was a wonderful place to grow up. Southold has retained the great qualities that made it such a great place 40-50 years ago, and the growth of the wine industry since the 1970's has really enhanced the scenery and agricultural economy. The North Folk has always been more middle class than the expensive Hamptons on the South Fork, with a more diverse population and attractive local small town charm. In 2040 Southold celebrates 400 years since its founding by the first English settlers on Long Island. I hope on that anniversary the town still has the beautiful, relaxing, affordable equality of the last 380 years, and Southold does not become yet another gentrified 21st century summer resort for the 1% rich!
A LURE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT GREAT. PROB. COST PREVENTS TOWN FROM OPENING UP HORTONS LIGHTHOUSE WEEKDAYS, SO I'LL MISS IT. McCABES BEACH SUNSET ON TAP. BUT PARKING FOR RESIDENTS ONLY. WISH THEY WOULD ISSUE PASSES TO B&B PATRONS. WILL VISIT FAMILY FARMS NEXT. CATAPANO GOAT FARM. FRESH SEAFOOD AT SOUTHOLD MARKET LOOKED GREAT, IF U CAN TAKE IT HOME. CLOSED TUESDAYS. WINERIES LATER. WEEKEND TOURS ONLY. WORD IS LENZ, BEDELL, MACARI ARE A CUT ABOVE.
We had a great time in Southold. We spent a lot of time at the beach collecting shells and swimming. We saw an osprey and lots of turkeys! It's close to Greenport where we did some shoping and got ice cream. Can't wait to go again!
We were there for a family wedding nearby. It was a lovely “century home” with English gardens and a gracious host Marilyn. The room was lovely and comfortable, and the breakfasts were sumptuous! The atmosphere was very calming and relaxed. The location is within 5 minutes of central Greenport and many vineyards and eating establishments.
Beautiful historic home. Proprietors were very welcoming and very upfront about cell and internet service in the area. They responded quickly to questions but not intrusive. Window air conditioning units made bedrooms comfortable. Close to the beaches, a a great fire pit for s’mores. A lovely place to get away from it all.
The service was exceptional. The breakfast was wonderful and filled me up all day. The location was centrally located so we were able to visit the local beaches and local attractions with no trouble. The hostess was always so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I would not hesitate at all to stay here again.
The B&B was such a peaceful and relaxing place. The room provided amenities beyond any hotel room, had a private bathroom and was very comfortable. Flo and Janie were very friendly and helpful with direction and things to do in the area.
