ArgentinaWe loved every second of our stay at Hotel 1928. Every square inch feels thoughtfully designed and perfectly taken care of. You can see the special touch in every detail, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant on the first floor were delicious, and ending the night with a drink on the rooftop bar overlooking all of Waco was truly wonderful.

Privovar hotel and restaurant was very good is an easy walk to the Waco Hippodrome theater. We saw a standup comic there. The online description of the Hipp is much better than it really is. We had balcony middle seats in row 28. The folding chairs were comfortable, but the sight line was terrible. Rows 32+ folding chairs in the balcony looked much harder and I would pass on those. Steps in the balcony section were steep. If you are handicapped or can't handle steps, forget the balcony. Bar and restrooms were OK. But they are up one flight of steps or by elevator. Sound was good. Lights were low.

Waco is a great place to visit with lots to do whether you like seeing sights, being active outdoors, shopping or dining it has something for everyone. Baylor University sports for entertainment, a plethora of museums for both history and nostalgia (The Mayborn, Texas Rangers HOF [law enforcement, not baseball team], Texas Sports HOF, The Mammoth National Monument. Multiple areas of walkable downtown and Brazos River area.

Enjoyed the stay. Lots of things to see and do. Mammoth paleontology site was impressive. The zoo was great! Grandsons loved the animal exhibits. Enjoyed seeing the Brazos River as we were traveling to the different attractions we visited.

I love the town. we will be moving there in months. so...
I love the town. we will be moving there in months. so many places to eat at. so many stories to go look into. People are soo friendly there. only thing I didn't get to see Chip& Jo would have love to see them. getting around town was very easy. so many old homes and new homes.lot of parks around for kids to play. they have a nice daycare center for your kids.

Would recommend that you stop by the Magnolia restaurant...
Would recommend that you stop by the Magnolia restaurant downtown and order the biscuits withe strawberry butter, it's worth going to Waco just for that!! We were there for our grandchildren's trackmeet and my grandson ran into and got to take a selfie with Joanna Gains. What a surprise!!
Would definitely go back to enjoy of what Waco has to offer.

Waco is an interesting town with lots of old buildings that...
Waco is an interesting town with lots of old buildings that have been or are being renovated rather than torn down. There was quite a lot of road work going on so couldn't always get directly to where we wanted to go. Our hotel was newish and lovely in every way except the neighborhood which was pretty industrial, however, we had no problems at all, just not visually pleasing. I imagine that will change over time as Waco is growing. Check for Baylor events before you plan a visit as the city gets VERY crowded at those times. We didn't do any of Magnolia stuff as that has no interest to us but I know many people enjoy it so there's always that. They do have a wide variety of food to choose from, down home country cookin' to upscale restaurants and fun places. We were there on a Monday so some places were closed but that's to be expected and we were there for a specific event and didn't have a lot of time. Go later in the week and you'll find plenty to look at/do.

Becuase our suite was dirty, they tried to downgrade us and move us to two different rooms both smaller and one had two beds. We ended up opting to stay in our room and got some clean sheets until housekeeping could clean. Even when they cleaned the next day...they still did not vaccum the floor. We were told we would be compensated for the aweful inconvenience but that was a lie....nothing was ever done. Ruined my birthday weekend. Don't waste your money.
