We loved the gardens and all the attention to detail in the rooms, it was such a cosy getaway. The shared bathroom was really beautiful and clean.😁My 11 month baby loved walking around the garden was such an adventure for her. The cutest little house dog visited her in the mornings making it extra special. Will definitely come back🙂

Hotel was good - would select the ground floor rooms next time for the smokers (easy access to get outside). Breakfast is excellent Staff very friendly Security good Black sheep restaurant was incredible - book a table its worth it. Did not go to the casino.

A real gem hidden in Caledon.

A real gem hidden in Caledon. We loved our one night stay at the Caledon Grace Guesthouse. We were welcomed by Petrus who went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and were comfortable, including booking a restaurant for us. The guesthouse is a beautiful old home and the outlook from the verandah onto the garden is gorgeous and made fro a very relaxing stay.

For visiting the hot springs it is good, however it is...

For visiting the hot springs it is good, however it is expensive and you are better off staying in an Air BnB near by and visiting the springs in the day time. Bedrooms lack privacy and are prone to noise from the outside and neighbouring rooms well into the evening.

We chose the route via Caledon, to Chelsea Flowers at...

We chose the route via Caledon, to Chelsea Flowers at Stanford, rather than the usual route through Hermanus. Beautiful drive through valley from Caledon to Stanford. Best in Caledon was dinner at The Barn Restaurant ... don't judge a restaurant by it's front door!!! It's a gem: extensive menu, generous proportions, friendly service, quirky ice buckets! Shop for personal essentials was easy to find. Spa and Casino at Caledon Hotel were of no interest to us. Flowers weren't open on the overcast day.

I was born and raised in Caledon and liked being back.

I was born and raised in Caledon and liked being back. It was just as I remembered. The beautiful mountain views, the town surrounded by farmland is an experience in itself. It is a quiet town and close to other towns like Hermanus, Gansbaai, Grabouw etc. I would recommend staying in Caledon as well as a visit to the Caledon Spa with its natural hot spring.

When you drive into Caledon you think you are just driving...

When you drive into Caledon you think you are just driving into a working farming village (which it also is) but it also has so much more to offer. Its a great stop when driving from cape town to the garden route, close to hemel and aarde valley and to hermanus. The town itself has beautiful botanic gardens, a big spa and casino, you can do quadriding and also worlds longest zipline is there! We loved our stay at the Caledon Grace Guesthouse- a wonderful Victorian home from the 1850's- in lush gardens where we could really relax after all this roadtripping.

The location was idyllically located on a private, gated estate just on the outskirt of central Caledon, beautifully curated with manicured lawns and dreamy vintage feel. Every detail of the manor was lovely, from the creaky floors, to the winding stairs, the art pieces and the eclectic furnishings. Our bedroom was spacious with comfortable beds and a heater was provided to keep the room warm. The staff were friendly and helpful and very welcoming.

We attended a wedding at Die Woud (magical place just outside of Caledon) and needed a place to sleep for the night. The wedding was fantastic, and so we got to bed far too late... fortunately, our room at The View (room with the shared bathroom) was *super* quiet, the bed and bedding absolutely perfect, and the extra dark curtains enabled us to recover as well as possible. Also, Carly was a fantastic and attentive host!
