We had the most incredible long weekend at Alpha Excelsior Guest Farm and honestly could not have asked for a better escape. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly by James, which immediately made us feel at home. The caravans and accommodation were perfectly equipped with everything we needed — comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully set up for a relaxing stay. It truly felt like a home away from home. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. Surrounded by mountains and nature, it’s such a peaceful and serene environment. We spent our days exploring the beautiful hiking trails, cooling off at the waterfall, and even enjoying some kayaking on the dam — all of which made the experience even more special. One of the highlights was definitely the lovely interaction with the rescue donkeys — such a unique and heartwarming touch that added to the charm of the farm. If you’re looking to truly unwind and reconnect with nature, this is the place. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and can highly recommend Alpha Excelsior to anyone looking for a memorable getaway. We will most certainly be returning!

Everything. I loved everything about this property. It is an oasis of beauty and calm, an opportunity to learn about the environment and peoples of the region, to hike and relax. Liam, our guide during our stay will stay forever in our memories. Came away inspired.

We had a wonderful stay in Clanwilliam! Adele, the host, was absolutely fantastic, always incredibly kind, helpful, and available for anything we needed. The apartment was spotless and equipped with excellent amenities. We never missed a thing during our stay. P.S. We loved the rooibos jelly and all the little touches she surprised us with throughout our time there – it really made us feel at home. If we return to South Africa, we won’t have any doubts about where to stay – this will be our first choice for sure!

Roads are in poor state. Corrugations were severe in places.

Roads are in poor state. Corrugations were severe in places. If Cape Nature wants to attract visitors they need to make an effort to improve this. Normal sedans will struggle on these roads. I will not recommend the Cederberg to friends with sedans.

Serenity, beautiful, friendly people, spectacular starry nights, very cute farm animals. Loved our stay. We stayed for 4 nights at Enjo Nature Farm. Stunning place! We had lunch at Travellers rest, absolutely gorgeous restaurant, perfect wedding venue! We popped in at De kleine schuur - refreshing and a littlegem for the weary sofisticated traveller, Dessert rose and Veldskoendraai - a wonderful array of food and other goodies!

A magical place to spend a couple of days or weeks! Incredible rock formations, scenery, and places of interest to visit. Wonderful hikes, unfortunately many of which were closed due to the recent fires

Absolutely stunning views.

Absolutely stunning views. Definitely recommend high clearance vehicle. Lots of gravel roads, some are not great. When it rains, the roads are dangerous. Lots of driving through very deep puddles and some bridges washed away. But A+ for adventure.

The staff were super friendly, helpful and efficient.

The staff were super friendly, helpful and efficient. Our Eco-Cottage was beautifully positioned to maximise on the stunning mountain scenery and sunsets while being completely private. We booked supper and breakfast in the restaurant. The 3 course meal was superb; I would highly recommend the Lamb shank... The weather was sublime and we could dine out on the deck, still appreciating the surrounding beauty of nature. We would highly recommend this venue and its facilities and will definitely be returning again.
