South AfricaThe calmness of the area and the house felt like we were secluded from people and in our own bubble but close to town to get anything we needed. It was very hot and the host helped us combat this by providing us fans. We loved how the place was decorated, and it was entertaining exploring the different artifacts on the house. They were very helpful in suggesting places to go in the area and explore. We went to the town's Christmas market and saw SANTA ON A DONKEY CART!

A wonderful quaint village with incredibly friendly folk and safe surroundings. The landscape is beautiful and clean with an abundant amount of birdlife. Plenty of interesting little shops and restaurants that have interesting things to look at and to buy.

Mcgregor is a gem with character with all the locals and artist staying there. Tuesday's truck hamburgers at Jimmy's pub is awesome, breakfast at 51 was such a treat, Lords was very nice with a very nice lady to assist us in tasting wine and then obviously La Galleria Cottage is definately a MUST!!!

We found that the people in the town were extremely helpful...
We found that the people in the town were extremely helpful and friendly and would go out of their way for you, making your visit very pleasant.
We had delicious food at Jimmy's and Tebaldi's.We tasted the scrumptious monster burgers from the food truck that comes every Tuesday and Thusday.
I even had a back massage offered by Charmaine who runs a shop with pamper treatments.

It is well worth the trip from Cape town.
It is well worth the trip from Cape town. The little town has quaint shops, a very good coffee shop and I had the most delicious apple pie ever from the farmers' market. The delightful little cottage was perfect for our needs.

Beautiful, clean little town.
Beautiful, clean little town. Quant little clothing shops, beautiful to visit. Maaaany bargains to be found. Mostly, friendly people. Only at Jimmys restaurant, did we have very poor reception, but we didn't let that upset us, we went and had a Fantastic meal at Four Cousins . Our meals at the coffee shop in Roberstons, Strictly Coffee, were out of this World, magnificent service and hearty, delicious meals.

The restaurants, bars and cafes were all very welcoming and served delicious food and great wines. The locals have time to chat and share what they love about their town and why they live there. There is a real sense of community.

I don’t think the photographs did this beautiful space justice. It’s really stunning, wonderful views over the town of McGregor. The outside showers linked to the indoor showers were magical. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook delicious meals. We enjoyed the fireplace and comfortable beds as our visit was during winter. The gardens are absolutely stunning as well. Close enough for a walk into town for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Beautiful property in a quiet part of town (not that anywhere is really that busy in McGregor) Excellent host support. Well equipped and secure. One addition that we would have liked is a small barbecue on the patio (although our host did offer to bring one in for us). Would readily stay here again. Loved the visits from Max the cat!

Lovely little cottage with a large, peaceful garden. An ideal stay for a couple. Gordon, who manages the property, was excellent and responded positively and professionally to any request and was an absolute mine of information. He made us feel really at home in McGregor.

Beautiful location and a quaint property. Crispen was wonderful welcoming us on arrival and showing us everything we needed. McGregor is a charming little town, not experienced peace and quiet like it for a long time.
