Paternoster is a really lovely town.
Paternoster is a really lovely town. It's very quiet and there's not loads to do, but it's ideal for a short break or if you just want to relax. The restaurants are all really nice, the people are super friendly, there's some lovely little shops to browse around and some nice beaches. It's a nice town to walk around or you can rent e-bikes from the Waterfront. You can also use it as a base to explore the surrounding area such as Jacob's Bay and St Helena Bay.

Paternoster is a beautiful village, as with all villages in...
Paternoster is a beautiful village, as with all villages in South Africa the juxtaposition of the wealthy and the under-privileged is stark, the locals seem to make it work. The town is well kept, beautiful with plenty of space to walk, ride bicycles and kayak, swim or simply be.
The unfortunate fact that the bulk of the homes are second homes / holiday lets is apparent, which is a pity, although does make accommodation more affordable.

i picked this property as my mother is elderly and couldnt...
i picked this property as my mother is elderly and couldnt climb stairs. this property has to ground floor bedrooms with bathrooms and then an upstairs bedroom with en suite and balcony. I had asked if there were heated blankets available and the host was so accommodating that 2 were put on the beds, one for my mom and one for me. This really helped my mom be comfortable in the evenings.
there really isnt anything negative we can say about our stay, we wished we could have stayed longer!

The aesthetics, for a start.
The aesthetics, for a start. Like a Southern African Greek village, great restaurants, fantastic seafood, nicest people, and walkable. Check out Gaaitjie, Leeto, and Kreeftegang for superb food and dining experiences.

Our stay at Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel was nothing...
Our stay at Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every single attention to detail had been thoughtfully considered. The rooms are absolutely magnificent — luxurious, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything you could possibly wish for.
On our first evening, the team created the most magical surprise for our special occasion. They lit our fireplace, decorated our bed with rose petals, and welcomed us with a delicious bottle of wine. It was so beautifully done. Such care and thoughtfulness made the experience unforgettable.
The staff are truly outstanding — warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Every interaction felt sincere and effortless. A very special mention must go to Kiki in the restaurant, Leeto, who is an absolute gem. Leeto restaurant made our stay even more memorable. The food deserves its own standing ovation. Compliments to the chef for producing some of the finest meals we have ever had. I can honestly say I have never tasted fish as outstanding as this in my life, and the oysters were simply insane. We are still dreaming about the chicken velouté — we could have happily drunk an entire mug of it!
The massage was absolutely brilliant too. I rarely use hotel spa services because they are so often disappointing, but this experience completely exceeded expectations.
Thank you to the entire team at Strandloper for creating such a special and unforgettable stay. We cannot wait to return in Summer next year.

Everyone is so friendly.
We highly recommended renting a e bike and explore this lovely town.
And don't forget to book at Wolfgat.The experience will stay with you forever.

The location is great for the beach, and for Leeto restaurant, 150m walk away. Parking is easy on the front drive. The room was comfortable and well equipped (fridge, hair dryer, wifi etc. all worked). It is a good base for the local area, which is what we wanted. If you want local crayfish then there are restaurants in an area at the very far end of the beach (at Paternoster Waterfront). We only discovered this on the last day from another hotel guest, as they don't appear on Google maps.

Property perfectly located on the beachfront with l unrestrictedly views, beautifully decorated, very well-equipped kitchen, BBQ facilities were outstanding, everything you needed available to make your stay more memorable. Fishing boats launching on good weather conditions from the beach allowing you access to fresh fish and crayfish at reasonable prices.

Its ocean view and proximity to the beach. Extremely comfortable cottage with all the comforts of home. Spotless clean, strong WiFi and DSTV /streaming service faultless. Closed , sunny patio/ Braai area was an added bonus. The black out blinds, alarm and security places Flamink beach view cottage a notch above other self catering properties

The unit was in a lovely quiet estate of Paternoster called Die Kom. It was right on the beach!
The security was great for the unit with alarm and beams.
Stay in Paternoster was super frinedly and helpful during the booking and check-in/out. I would highly recomend them as a team and specifically this unit was fantastic!
