Gîte la canopée is the perfect place for enjoying the tranquility of the French countryside whilst still being within 3km of the vibrant town of Duras with it’s many bars, restaurants, artisan crafts, a great night market. Château Duras is magnificent. The Gîte is very well equipped with every convenience. Fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard, including a very comfortable bed. There is a private terrace overlooking woodland which is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The pool is sublime and completely private, a real treat. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful without being at all intrusive. Sandra kindly arranged a ‘Degustation’ with her neighbouring winemaker which was very enjoyable and she had many suggestions for things to see and do in the region. We highly recommend this piece of paradise.

Stylish, well-equipped and very comfortable. Plenty of room in a relatively small property. Nice terrace, comfortable chairs and solid canopy. A bit late in the year for us to try the plunge pool. Off-street parking in front. Handy shop an d good eatery in the village. Many more of the latter within a few miles. Lots of big shops in Pineulh. This property is good for all but especially good for people with mobility problems. Hosts nearby but totally inobtrusive.
