Es una casa muy amplia, permite acomodar un grupo grande perfectamente. Eramos 11 personas y estuvimos muy a gusto. Un lugar muy tranquilo.

La zona de la piscina era genial. Las habitaciones eran grandes y cada una con su propio baño. La cocina y el salón eran muy grandes. Es un sitio acogedor y cómodo, ideal para grupos numerosos.

Good house in a quiet traditional Portuguese aldeia. In the kitchen there are all necessary utensils, but do not forget to buy some food before arrival as there is no supermarket in the village.

A great place to get to know locals. It is a step back in time to 20 or 30 years ago. surrounded by the beautiful nature of Gerês. The host were friendly and accommodating. The pool allowed fun times and privacy.

I rarely take the time to write reviews but I had to make an exception after our lovely stay at Casa Albelo do Gerês. The unexploited little village with lots of friendly farm animals walking around freely makes this place an authentic rural experience that is hard to find these days. The hosts are so friendly and relaxed. The view is ridiculously beautiful. The local food (the meat steak in particular) is superb. The surroundings offer wonderful hiking trails(visit the hidden waterfall!). The place is perfect for a quiet romantic getaway but we brought our 10 month old baby and she was also treated wonderfully by the owners and staff. Our highest recommendations!

The location of Casa do Castanheiro is absolutely fantastic, the view directly from the house is stunning. You see bare, wild mountains, with artificial lake at the bottom of the view. The house is well equipped in terms of multimedia (TV, audio, internet works reasonably well considering remote location). There is plenty of kitchen equipment! Bathroom is nice, not new, but well maintained and reasonably clean. Outeiro is located within borders of a national park, it is great for hiking and general tourism around the area. The hosts are not on site, but are very helpful at arrival and during stay, getting in touch was very easy!. Prior to arriving I read the reviews of the house, they mentioned tricky arrival/parking at the location. It is indeed very tight, but so is the whole village. Be prepared for very tight manouvers and cm level spaces between car and walls/steps/stones etc.
