We took up his offer to pick us up from the train station for 15 euro as we did not have a car. Very comfortable spacious apartment/gîte with lovely outdoor area. Beautiful pool but alas while we were there the weather was too cool to swim. Bus 11 from La Rochelle is an easy ride to the property. Note. It does not run on a Sunday.

A very nice and comfortable place , clean, quiet , with a familiar environment in the countryside, exceptionally managed by the host . If you’re traveling along the canal des deux mers like us, it is definitely worth the deviation of 5 km from the main path. Highly recommended !!!

It was really hot when we were there, the pool & hot tub were an added bonus.
