This place simply has everything <3 as you approach, you find yourself on the banks of a river and a pretty Romanesque chapel greets you. You drive on as you enter a wood which stretches along the bank of the river. You drive on a small road, with no problems, and enter the property. The carpark leads to a lawn with lovely plants and a front garden overlooking the river. The view is beautiful. We were greeted by the host who explained to us the story of the place and bit about the family business of wines. He showed us to our room. The building itself is rustic in style but exquisitely renovated with all modern amenities, and so much elegance and 'buen gusto'. The room was a dream, furnished in a rustic, minimalistic fashion, with delicate and relaxing lighting . Such a big room with a balcony sprawling onto the garden and the river. Below and beyond the property, the wood continues, and offers a lovely stroll along the bank of the river. Thankfully we had also booked dinner at the property. At night the garden lawn on the river was turned in a candlelit restaurant. We were offered a superb dinner cooked by the hostess herself, who is a qualified chef, in her own right. This meal was in itself a wonderful experience, and offered great value for money. The atmosphere it offered, the view, even at night, being a full moon, the delicate goodness of the fare, the wine which was from their own Bodega, made it a night to remember. The breakfast, served in an elegant manor style dining room consisted of freshly baked bread from their kitchen, home made jams and other products. Congratulations to this beautiful couple who turned this old property into a piece of heaven on earth !

Featuring pool with a view and views of garden, Hotel Rural VN Casal is a recently renovated country house located in Pontevedra, 38 km from Estación Marítima de Vigo. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The country house features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. The view was amazing . Gorgeous view of distant hills, nature and houses and it was equally as beautiful at night . This was my favorite place I stayed at in Galicia. The staff was very kind and accommodating. They took care of me and made sure I ate. The atmosphere was relaxing. Antonio the maintenance worker was super nice and helped me a lot, since I was on foot he took me to get food. Breakfast was fantastic. I believe in this town, you get a true feel for what rural Galicia is like and how friendly the locals are.

Located in Lugo, in a historic building, 9 km from Congress and Exhibiton Center, O Forno de Catuxa Cottage & Roman Wall is a recently renovated country house with a garden and shared lounge. With garden views, this accommodation offers a balcony. The country house also provides free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Location: Off-road but definitely worth to divert from a motorway. Calm, safe and nice rural location. We would like to stay more. Hotel: A carefully renovated old building. Interior designed with attention to details and to highlight remains of the old building. The price was higher than places around but it was definitely woth its price. Room: Our room was located upstairs (narrow stairs). It was narrow but long, the arrangement gave a comfortable place with sitting area (in an old school desk) and comfortable place for bags. electric sockets: many and easily accessible, including sockets near the bed; lighting: good. Stairs/elevator: there are rooms at the ground level and upstairs (no elevator, but you cannot expect this in an old farm house). Bed: large and comfortable. Bathroom: average in size, enough place for your toiletries, regular electric socket and heating. Large shower. Generally comfortable. Breakfast: Excellent. Wide selection of food for each taste, homemade cake, orange juice, good bread. We would like to taste more but would need additional stomache. WiFi: good. Staff: Nice and helpful. Parking: free, on site.

Friendly welcome, simple check in, beautiful house and terrace, an owner committed to good service, nice breakfast even though we wanted it a little early. Good collection of neighbourhood cats to play with. Stayed in 42 different places on the Camino and this was probably the best.

Very comfortable place to stay while visiting beaches and small towns nearby. It felt like a home away from home with the cozy accommodation, usable kitchen and laundry facilities.
