The Pamirs region offer some of the best high-altitude treks in the world, with beautiful sky-high scenery and the option of a breathtaking drive along the Pamir Highway. Equally wonderful excursions can be found along the border at the ruins of ancient Penjikent and the surrounding Fann Mountains. Tracing the Pyan River south from Khorog, the Wakhan Corridor is sprinkled with picturesque villages, ancient shrines and crumbling castle ruins. The corridor runs right up to the border so it’s possible to cross into Afghanistan and explore the Wakhan from the other side. I really appreciated the service from this hotel - from accommodating my very late arrival (3am) and the free airport transfer, to the assistance with finding a driver to take me on a day trip to Iskanderkul. Also the breakfast is varied and nutritious. Wifi was strong and fast. Very central location, with excellent views of Dushanbe (located on the 13th floor of the building).
