The Island Houses Seminyak is set in the tranquil part of trendy Seminyak, 600 metres from Seminyak Beach and 900 metres from Petitenget Temple.
”There is nothing not to like about Desu House. From the moment we walked through the door we were overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of this villa. The decoration is out of this world, such incredible attention to detail and absolutely no compromise on design or quality, even down to the hinges on the doors. A beautifully laid back style of traditional yet exotic and natural decoration and furnishings that make you never want to leave this place. There are The setting is very peaceful, far enough from the madness of Seminyak, yet close enough to walk to the main shopping and restaurant area. The beach is 5 minutes walk, accessed quickest by heading south on Jl Sari Dewi and turning right after about 500m. The staff were always on hand, yet discreet enough to think you were in your own home. The fridge was already stocked with basics (milk, butter, jam, beer) and there was enough tea, ground coffee and fresh fruit for 2 or 3 days. The pool is wonderful, great for kids and adults too, and essential for cooling off. During the day, all of the doors and windows are open to the outside. There is no AC in the main living area, only in the bedrooms. Apart from the pool area at the front of the house there is a smaller outside sitting and dining area to one side, behind which you can still see the tops of a temple building situated adjacent to the house. All 3 bedrooms are inside the main house building, all with their own spacious indoor/outdoor bathroom.
Room Service is available from Cafe Bali, which is a restaurant in the main Seminyak area on Jl Kayu Aya. The food is delicious, and arrived in around 30 mins. We also stopped in to Cafe Bali one afternoon, and I would guess that the villas and the cafe are under the same ownership, judging by the decor and attention to detail.
Incredible value for money, considering that there are 3 double rooms.
We will definitely return here, or maybe to one of the other Island Houses that are also situated in this same street.”
