The location was perfect, just out of the hustle and bustle of Ubud, but close enough to walk or taxi in in the evenings. There are also cafes and restaurants nearby which were excellent. You can order coffee, drinks and breakfast items at the property which were good and well priced. The room was perfect for us and our son with 2 large beds and our own bathroom and kitchen facilities. Also loved the pool area set in beautiful tropical gardens. There is beautiful attention to detail, and everything was presented well and spotlessly keen. Excellent value for money. “When I was younger I stayed in Bali with my family for 4 months, most of the time at Gusti's Garden 2 Guesthouse in Ubud. I have such great memories from that time, and of the owner Nyoman who was so kind to me and my family. So I decided to come back now, 15 years later - and I'm so glad I did! Gusti's Garden 2 has definitely managed to keep it's balinese charm and peaceful atmosphere. It's located in the middle of beautiful, quiet ricefields, but is also very close to the busy cultural centre of Ubud. I loved waking up to birds chirping and roosters crowing, and stepping out on the terrace to take in the view while enjoying the nice breakfast that they serve every morning. In the evening fireflies come out over the ricefields as crickets, frogs and geckos start their soothing choir. There's also a pool for cooling off in the heat. The path from the Guesthouse, through the ricefields, is lovely for taking a walk and enjoying the scenery, surrounded by ducks, butterflies and palm trees. There are also lots of great places along the way for organic food, yoga, massage, art and handcrafts. Nyoman and his family, and the rest of the staff, are very welcoming and sweet, and offer to help with whatever you should need. Couldn't have asked for anything more!”

“We love it here. My sister and I have been staying with Ketut a lot over the past few years, sometimes for months at the time. We lived in the villa in the back, in the upstairs room and in the downstairs room. All perfect places; rustic, clean and beautiful. Ketut and his family and friends are always there when you need them, whether its for a tour or a ride or for nice talks and friendly conversations. They're the perfect combination of hosts and friends. And you can always rely on them giving you a fair price for things, which definitely can't be said about everyone in Bali. Also they will go above and beyond to make you happy. They installed a t.v. for us once for example, with a big, HUGE antenna, so that we could watch the World Soccer championship when Holland played. Also they will do your laundry, pick you up at the strangest times when in motorbike trouble and lend your eggs and coffee. All in all; amazing place, amazing people.”

“The villa was a great layout for our family. We loved spending our days around the pool. Everything was beautiful, very clean and homely. Beds are extremely comfortable. Wifi is super fast. You feel welcomed by Leroy and his team, nothing is too much trouble. “Great to be in the peaceful area of Penestenan, able to escape the hubbub of Ubud. Fine to walk in to Ubud or get a taxi (50,000 to Ubud). Also lovely to walk along the path to Bintang Supermarket. Lots of good places to eat in the local area. Our favourite was the Yellow Flower Cafe (halfway along the ridge walk to Bintang) organic Bali buffet on a Sunday night, our best meal so far in Bali. Local people really friendly. Staff were wonderful, totally trustworthy and Gede (owner) a pleasure to meet. Pick-up from Legian, arranged through Gede, was great and final 0.5km to villa was with luggage on scooter and us on foot. Loved the open air shower. Great villa for star gazing. Open the front door and step out to beautiful view of rice-fields. Rafting and trips organised through Gede are much cheaper than leaflet prices. Would highly recommend taking torches as lights are intermittent along the paths.”

“The owner was friendly with ready smile and went out of her way to make me comfortable and feel at home. She accommodated my request to leave my luggage and even let me shower after I checked out. I chose this place for its close proximity to the Yoga Barn; but found out that there are several good restaurants within walking distance and Coco supermarket is very close as well. “4 rooms accommodation, so it's calm and perfect to relax. The pool is not big but clean and so nice, we loved it. Putu's welcome was warm and friendly. The room is beautiful, big and clean, with a mosquito net and a nice bathroom (great pressure in the shower). All the rooms have their own little terrace, where breakfast will be served. And speaking of breakfast : while i admit it can be a bit light when you have a big appetite, the banana pancakes are just AMAZING ! Honestly the best i had in all my trip in Bali, and so was the dragon fruit fresh juice. The house is really not far from the town center if you have a bike.
