„Chosen because it catered to meat eating and vegan alike. The food at dinner and breakfast was superb and portions were huge - don't snack before dinner! The room design also lovely. The three private hot baths are also really nice. You can't book these but we didn't have an issue getting one 3 times in an overnight stay - it's so hot you can't sit in them that long! Having stayed in a far inferior traditional ryokan in Kyoto for a similar price without dinner, I think this is definitely worth the money. The little onsen town is cute and we had a walk around the next day. Relatively easy to get to from Tokyo by train and bus (didn't take the hotel's private shuttle) - though if you're doing it this way make sure you have 1000 yen notes for the bus journey!“
