The BLISS Basel Residence is run by a very friendly and helpful Lebanese family. The same family also runs a Lebanese restaurant attached to the accommodation with delicious food that is also quite cheap for Switzerland. The owner is very friendly, attentive, accommodating and takes good care of his guests. The holiday apartments are equipped with everything you need. If something is missing or not in order, the owner will take care of it and remedy the situation or offer another solution. The apartments are spotless clean, cozy and the beds are very comfortable. We felt very comfortable. By paying the tourist tax you receive a ticket that entitles you to unlimited use of public transport in Basel and the entire Northwest Switzerland tariff association, so you can also get to Basel Airport with it.

Everything. The management, front desk, restaurant, bar and housekeeping, exceptional. The staff always greets with a smile and so very attentive to one’s needs. The property itself is in a perfect place in the old town of Basel, so you can walk everywhere. Very clean with large rooms and all the necessary amenities. The bar and restaurant are busy and vibrant with wonderful dining options and cocktail bar. A special notice to the front staff and the restaurant staff breakfast, lunch and dinner,exceptional . The service was impeccable, no request was too much for the amicable front office staff. The beverage station on every floor was a great touch. Previous reviews mentioned the sound of church bells to be disturbing at night, but we found them to be soothing and not inconvenient. Loved the design concept running through the hotel and we look forward to exploring their sister properties.

Absolutely fantastic hotel design, kindest staff, convenient location, l'occitane as a cosmetics, comfy bed, great restaurant, free snacks and coffee, they even offer waterproof bags for swimming with. One of the best hotels we stayed in.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town.
