Absolutely fantastic hotel design, kindest staff, convenient location, l'occitane as a cosmetics, comfy bed, great restaurant, free snacks and coffee, they even offer waterproof bags for swimming with. One of the best hotels we stayed in.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town.

The property was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. We loved all the extra details, such as the Aesop products, which made for an extra special stay. The apartment is also located right in the centre of Basel, within easy reach of everywhere via the wonderful tram system!

Our family stay at this apartment in Basel city centre was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The apartment was spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean—perfect for families with kids. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet, ensuring everyone had a good night’s sleep. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like extra blankets, board games, and even a high chair and crib for our little one. The location was unbeatable—right in the heart of the city with easy access to public transport, shops, and family-friendly attractions like the Basel Zoo and beautiful parks along the Rhine River. It was so convenient to explore the city without needing a car. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, providing great recommendations for family activities and dining spots.
