Yukie and Kevin made us so welcome in their home. We loved the quiet location with goats and hens outside and 2 beautiful house cats. The snuggy fire in the open plan living area was delightful. This was our first experience in a Japanese home, we wished we could have stayed longer. We were able to heat up a meal one evening and the other Yukie recommended an excellent local characterful restaurant. Kevin is a tour guide and also helped us organise activities in Kyoto.

The owner immediatelly made us feel comfortable and at home at the Abbey Road Inn. He cooked a delicious Okonomiaky Dinner for us in the evening and a great Japanese Breakfast in the morning. The room was very spacious and spotless clean. Highly recommended!

Lovely location in the forest -- it's very quiet and scenic. At the same time it's still accessible by taxi so no issues even if you have more luggage. Great wooden bathtub and amazing bathroom products (full Aesop range). Tasty, varied and well portioned meals. You really feel spoiled by the staff, e.g. alcohol is included with meals, free minibar, complimentary matcha tea and snacks.

Extremely friendly staff, the kaiseki dinner was delicious with a lot of variety, same for the breakfast (opted for Japanese style). Everything was clean, the room was amazing, clean yukatas and haoris were provided daily, the futon beds were very comfortable. This Ryokan is very well located as it's very close to the Kintetsu-Nara train station (with direct trains to both Kyoto and Osaka) and the main streets while still in a very quiet area. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in Nara, either for just one night or for a few days!

Absolutely fantastic stay, loved everything. Staff were amazing, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Excellent location, close to deer park and shops. Awesome private baths available too. Would definitely stay here again.
