Staying at Tranquilisle went far beyond our expectations on all imaginable parameters. The location is fantastic, some 30 min from Kandy, with beautiful nature embracing you from all sides - and perfectly placed in between stage 1 and 2 of the new and highly recommendable Pekoe Trail. The superb accommodation was exceptionally well thought, designed and build with attention to aesthetics, functionality and simplicity - enforcing the experience of full immersion with the surrounding nature, but with all the luxury one desires. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was very well and timely prepared and based on local produce and recipes - however modified to allow all regardless of age and tastebuds to get their bellies full. Last but not not least the host and his team went far beyond what one can expect of friendly, warm and helpful hospitality and service. Our entire family immediately fell in love with Tranquilisle and didn’t want to leave again. We will come back for sure!

We had just finished walking all 300km of the mountainous pekoe trail so this was the perfect place to come and chill straight after. Loved the pool and the service, food and everything about this place. Felt like a very special place indeed.

Location is superb, the view is awesome (make sure you have a room with valley view), rooms are super nice and comfortable, large and nicely designed bathrooms Restaurant menu isn't that big to my taste but everything i tasted was really good. Home made burgers are the bomb! Great choice of breakfast. Every type comes with a plate of fruits and a freshly squeezed juice. The service was great too. The host was just amazing. He was able to present almost every dish he served, made sure our tea cups were full with freshly brewed tea (no sugar..just pure jaggery!) Good idea before or after breakfast to take a walk around. Despite the lack of tourists these days, the hotel managed to keep the pool, the garden etc in order. Great job!

The property was breathtaking. Sat on top of a mountain about a 40 minute drive out of Kandy it’s an amazing experience just getting there. Upon arrival you are greeted by the most friendly staff who make you feel right at home from the start. Standout features are the hot tub and rooftop pool, as well as the stunning view from the restaurant. I ate the prawn curry for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The staff are very professional but also are more than happy to have conversation and have a joke if you’re anything like me. The Spa treatment was a lovely way to relax in the morning, and Havsha (the man on reception) organised everything for us for whenever we needed it. Weather it was the Spa treatment, a Tuk Tuk tour of the surrounding area with a fantastic scenic lookout, or even organising us a driver to Columbo, he did it all with zero hesitation.

Very nice house surrounded by the forest in Bellwood area. The room and bathroom are very nice and clean, and there is a whole area for the guests, including huge living room and dining area and kitchen if you wish to cook. We didn't use the kitchen but had the meals prepared by the hosts instead. It was delicious food, big variety of vegetables and really good spice tea. The family who owns the place is very friendly and caring. There is lot to see in the area, nice walks in Bellwood from the house and Hanthana mountain only 20 min away on tuk tuk. .
