Fantastic location right at a much nicer beach than in central Hikkaduwa. Very friendly and helpful guys working at the place. Rooms are cozy, comfortable with well working AC. Great with a swimming pool since the waves in the sea sometimes can be quite rough. Great breakfast!

they had boiled cooled water available for drinks (which I prefer than bottled water). had garden with banana and mango tree so I could enjoy some bananas shared by the host family. nice to have a garden and my room had a terrace. plus they had place in the garden to dry clothes. Was very nice to have bed curtains as it kept me safe with peace of mind even from crawling bugs. :) across the street is the way to the beach. in end of march there were too big and strong waves, so, no swimming… husband of the family speaks English well, has a tuktuk with soft fabric on the seats, which makes it the most comfortable!!! 👍👍👍He took me the first evening to Turtle and fish watching beaches. i could enjoy glorious sunset from that place. he wasn’t hurrying. very helpful!

Great 2 bedroom villa right on the beach with a lovely pool and catered like a hotel with the amazing team that took care of us and made our stay so comfortable! Breakfast was deliciously freshly cooked, and snacks were brought to us which was a lovely surprise. The crib for our toddler was super comfortable. The pool was a bit small but good enough to lounge in.

The villa is located a little further from the main restaurants, but within walking distance.Great view, very polite staff, delicious breakfasts!This is definitely one of the best places to stay in Hikkaduwa!

The Thambili Cabanas is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have ever been to. From checkin to checkout we were treated like family. It is also a local family-runned hotel, which makes it even more worth to stay there instead of an international owned hotel chain. The staff is incredibly friendly and always on site. They will help with all questions, organize shuttles, scooters, onward travel and much more. The facility is extremely well maintained and clean. The pool is very clean and an oasis of peace. The rooms are spacious, also very clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is big enough and you have everything you need. Not far you find the Thambili Cafe, which belongs to the hotel and which we can highly recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also beach beds, which hotel guests can use for free. We would like to say thank you again to Rowan, his family, all the hotel staff and Janaka for the wonderful time. This place is really unique.
