It was like a winter wonderland with views of snow capped Triglav. This is a beautiful farm, warm and cosy, just like the owner Miha - a true gentleman. The rustic home made bread, the gorgeous horses who are groomed to perfection. Everything about my stay was lovely, far away from the tourist traps. This was the real Slovenia with all the warmth and welcome that Slovenian people have to offer. Great memories were made here. I was lucky to be staying for the blessing of the horses in the true Slovene tradition. A spectacle for the eyes. I will be back in May to climb Golica and see the Narcissi’s in bloom.

Apartma Podlogar is a very nice place to stay in if you`d like to be far from the loudness of big city. It is located on the slop of the mountain Golica (2.5 hours hike from the house) in the small mountain village. Just next to the house there`s a bar and chairlift for another higher point, but we could not use it because of the schedule. There`s a big parking next to the house, wonderful view to the surrounding mountains and valleys. It is 30 mins from lake Bled and about 1 hour to Bohinj. The accommodation is not big, but very clean, cozy and has absolutely all necessary for cooking and comfortable stay. There`s lot of brochure and books about the location (Planina pod Golica, Jesenice), small pleasant welcome treats were waiting for us as well. The host (Boris) lives in the same house so easily accessible in case of any need. The place is dog friendly. We sincerely enjoyed our stay and would return gladly once again.
