We love places that are slightly off the beaten track and this was in a small village of apple farmers and perfectly suited our needs. We had a comfortable bedroom for four people with a bunk bed for our daughers (11 and 18), a small balcony and everything was tastefully designed and laid out. When we travel, we are used to having a kettle in the bedroom so were a little disappointed that this feature was missing but realised that it was missing in the other rooms we stayed in during our visit to Italy so perhaps this was cultural. The village is a short distance from local restaurants so anyone looking to have food locally will have to drive for 5-10 minutes to reach the nearest places in Taio. However, we found some excellent restaurantes in Cles and Taio which we scheduled in to our busy days. We were also offered a traditional Italian meal of potato cakes on Saturday night which added to our cultural and culinary experience, with a chocolate volcano dessert that was worthy of a Michelin rating. (Homemade by Francisco, big thumbs up for that one.) All in all it was a very pleasurable experience for people who are willing to be a little away from the crazy hubub activity of a larger village/city/town.

We arrived at the time we indicated when we made the reservation and the owner was on site and able to get us set up in no time at all. While getting us registered, there was an app that she guided us through setting up that gave us discounts to local shops and free entries to several of the historical sites in the area. She also offered to make reservations at any restaurants in the area, and had several that she recommended. She then gave us a great tour of the facility, spoke great English, and was able to answer all of our questions. Breakfast in the morning was in a picnic basket and just outside our door each morning so we were able to have breakfast when/where we wanted. Each morning was something different, but the warm coffee in a thermos was a welcome staple. On one of the nights, we requested a fan in the room and it was there waiting for us when we got to the room that night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, they truly went above and beyond to make this stay memorable.

I didn't know what to expect, coming to Trentino for the first time. But this stay greatly exceeded my expectations! The stay was pleasantly nested into a small village in the valley. I'd definitely consider going again!

The location was lovely - the scenery was exactly what you want from a stay in Trentino. The hosts were very accommodating. There were excellent breakfasts, including homemade strudel, muffins, juices and jams all made from homegrown apples.
