Quinta Vilar e Almarde offers rustic-style accommodation in Castelo de Paiva. The lady had my heart as you can tell she loves her property and her garden. This property was like a hidden oasis. It was perfect in every way with an exceptional shower and lots of hot water! We would love to visit again sometime!

Located in a wine producing estate, on the right bank of Douro River, Quinta De La Rosa is a family owned property, 2 km from Pinhão. Rooms at this working vineyard are spread over several levels.

Guests can start their day with a breakfast buffet. A shaded terrace overlooking the river and vineyards provides the ideal setting for a meal. The property’s restaurant, Cozinha da Clara, is named after the owner's British grandmother, and takes inspiration from her home-cooking, with a menu featuring regionally-inspired dishes. breakfast was delicious and in the beautuful modern restaurant overlooking the valley. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and had one of the best meals of our stay (better than DOC). My aunt's room in the new house was adorable and had robes and towel warmers and so many other nice things, ours was in the old house and was very nice and recently painted and revamped but not as luxe. There was a 10 euro difference which was annoying! However, it was very nice! The property is STUNNING abd there's a million places to sit and look out at the valley and feel like you have the place to yourself.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. It features an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant. absolutely exceptional stay. we only had one night and would have preferred two. from afternoon drinks to the shared table dinner and wonderful food and wine it was wonderful. the room was large with great views. can't speak highly enough of the host.

The hosts were so nice, so welcoming. We travelled with both our kids and they were so flexible and nice to them. The pool is fantastic. The swing with a view also nice. The breakfast? Delicious. They served fruit from their own garden (we were there during the season for passion fruits, the kids ate them all) When we booked we found the price a bit on the high side, for sure given the location (a bit remote). But once you are there, you see it’s worth it. They are really such nice people
