The hotel is located in a quieter part of Umeda which I prefer but surprisingly is within short walking distance to the Osaka & Umeda train stations as well as the commercial area. Standard fares such as Family Mart and Starbucks are just by the hotel. There are a number of second-hand stores one street away. Great and reasonably-priced restaurants serving all kinds of authentic Japanese dishes are next door. Moreso, the rooms and especially the bathrooms are big -- total of about 40 sqm -- much bigger than the usual Japanese hotel. It comes with superb bathroom toiletries not usually offered by even other 5-star hotels and for the ladies, the room comes with a powerful hairdryer. A favorite amenity is their yukata or pajamas. Needless to say, staff hospitality and service is superb in the way that the Japanese are known for.

The room was beautiful, very clean and packed with useful amenities. Also quite spacious, which is something other hotels in our stay in Japan lacked. Amazing location right near a beautiful shopping district and a stones throw from the Metro. Staff were so helpful and friendly, handing us towels to dry off as we arrived in rainy weather and allowing us to opt for a late check out to accommodate our late flight. Wonderful stay, highly recommend.

The Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa by Hulic features a restaurant, fitness centre, a bar and shared lounge in Kyoto. Very good experience. The location is unbeatable, by far the best in Kyoto. The hotel is new (an high school recently readapted to hotel). The room was clean and new. Lounge at 3rd floor with fireplace outside very cozy. Great value.

The hotel was clean, the bed very comfortable, and it was located just outside the Gion District. So many good restaurants near by and 5 min from the market/shopping area. The concierge service was impressive!
