Kandalama Heritance is a 20-minute drive from UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the 2,000-year-old cave temple at Dambulla and the Sigiriya rock fortress. The 5-star hotel is a 3.5-hour drive from the airport. Kandalama is a well known location and outstanding nature escape. This was my special location in my bucket list since quite long. I’v got nice location exactly on booking.com site with jacuzzi but its barely working, probably they need to keep eye on that even though it was such a nice place filled with nice food. I was was there with my wife and we had a excellent stay at Kandalama. looking to stay again when we come back to Sri lanka.

They have great dinner buffets where we had the best food we ate in Kandy.

Room and bathroom were amazing (with a list of artwork available). Nice touches which include great service, amazing breakfast, attention to details. It feels cozy as if you were in your super posh friend’s house 😅 (having said that, it’s not excessive nor over the top). Great pool. It’s a perfect getaway and still close enough to Kandy.

Calm, peaceful place. We had a beautiful view (room 103), spacious room with everything you need. I sincerely recommend to book a complimentary trekking with Isura, it was very interesting and informative. The hotel is surrounded by tea and space plantations, so it’s a huge territory, Isura knows every single plant and bird there, so we had 1.5 hours of very nice trekking through plantations and tropical forest. May be it’s better to change the bottles for shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, because it’s very difficult to use and get it:)

Each meal at Santani is an experience, and with no printed menus, the chefs propose a menu to each guest based on the dietary preferences and utilizing the fresh organic vegetables grown on site. All room categories are available on a full-board basis. We loved it so much !! The hotel in real life is much better than pictures here in booking.com. 3 meals was absolutely amazing and super high standard, chefs were professional and smiley, the staff Viraj & Vipula at restaurants were all friendly makes you feel very special. We experience both garden view and Mountain View room, we loved both of them, garden view has outdoor washroom and shower area was a great experience. River walk was a great cardio, the guide was very informative, but remember to bring long pants as there are lots of worms during the walk. We did not experience the spa as we were on budget, but we tried the sauna and steam and relaxed there for 30 mins, it was really zen, we loved it so much and regretted that we did not try the spa.
