Ambong Rainforest Retreat is such a great place run by lovely people. Everything is well thought through and the service is exceptional. In fact we loved the stay so much that we changed our travel schedule to enjoy more time here. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature, yet, the Cenang strip/mall is within walking distance (30min) or alternatively a Grab/taxi can be hailed easily. The hotel staff - everyone (!) - is super nice and helpful with suggesting activities and what not. The breakfast is delicious and guests can choose between two wonderful restaurants with great atmosphere and views (one is vegan). Thanks to the whole Ambong Team for having us and making our honeymoon start as amazing as it could have been - we will definitely stay at Ambong when coming back to Langkawi!

Honestly, the staff at this hotel were super friendly and chill – made the whole stay feel easy and comfortable. What really surprised me though was the beach! I didn’t expect Tanjung Rhu to be that beautiful. The water was so clear and the beach was peaceful, almost felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Such a great spot!

The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, babysitting service and organising tours for guests. Loved the warm nature and friendliness of the staff. The facilities were great - the pool area with pool bar, the gym, the restaurant whether for breakfast or dinner, the bar and games area downstairs was most useful on those rainy days (pool table, checkers, cards, jenga). The variety of food is incredibly vast - you'd be hard pushed to not find something you like if that is, you're not adventurous and don't try it ALL ;) The room was lovely, airy and bright with beanbag cushions to sit on your balcony and coffee, tea, water replenished daily as well as bathroom amenities. The tour desk was super helpful and arranged our tour within less than 24 hours notice! The buggy service to the beach is great even though it's only a 300m walk, sometime you just don't feel like walking in the heat and the buggy service is available all day.
