This is a beautiful property and without doubt the most luxurious and well maintained property in the area. It is an escape from the busy market town, somewhere to just relax after a day exploring. We were delighted to find such a large well appointed and luxurious villa with great staff. The owner was able to accommodate a request for breakfast and organise dinners for us also (at extra cost) which was great. This property very much has an international feel to it in the way they look after you. We had not planned to spend so much time in the villa but it was so good we spend more time in than out.

Beautiful environment, clean air outside the busy part of the city. Great owners who took care of us in every way, excellent kitchen and clean and comfortable accommodation. An oasis of peace and good mood. I recommend booking a 3-day jungle trek through them, it was the best experience of the entire stay. We saw a lot of animals in the wild thanks to the excellent guides and they also have a great cook :)

We lived in a wonderful apartment: clean, well furnished, ample and comfortable. We did not use the kitchen facilities that were available and exploited instead the very attractive and satisfactory meal options provided by the structure itself. In a word, we have been coddled for the whole length of our stay. Should we come back to lake Toba (which we hope) this will be the first address to look for.

Boasting a garden and a terrace, Rumah Nizar (next to Ngarai Sianok) offers accommodation in Bukittinggi, 800 metres from Gadang Clock Tower and 20 km from Padang Panjang Train Station. Beautiful, well maintained, wooden house with 3 bedrooms. Very clean and nicely furnished with wooden furniture, cosy carpet in the living room, smart tv, water dispenser. Old and new family photos give some insight in it's history. Conveniently located in walking distance from the clock tower (city centre), Japanese bunkers and nice panorama are just next door. Works great as a base for day trips (we did Sianok Valley + Lawang, palace in Payakumbuh + nearby villages, Harau valley). All in all we had an amazing time and I definitely recommend staying in Rumah Nizar!
