Located 3 km east of Belmonte, Quinta da Ribeira is set in the countryside, featuring exposed stone walls and a unique rustic feel. Exceptionally pleasant and relaxing atmosphere created by the owners of Quinta de Ribeira. They are genuinely kind and caring people. They have made us feel like at home throughout our staying with them. The location is very nice and quiet. We were lucky living in a very cosy atmospheric cottage, where we had have everything we needed. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and evening meal in the qunta's yard with the spectacular view on mountains. It is very secure and private place. The owners are always available and trying to do their best to make your stay very comfortable. We will definitely come back there and thoroughly recommend this place to everyone.

Casa Batucela is comprised by a stone-walled house and a wooden bungalow located in Monte Serrano, 10 km from Covilhã. Location was central to the area we wanted to explore. Animals were friendly. Hosts were able to communicate with my English and my very limited Portuguese. Photos and directions were perfect and the listing was exactly as described. Saw fire salamanders on our nighttime walk.
