We really did not know what to expect from a pirate-themed resort but we had a beautiful and very comfortable room. Mid-week and off-season, we had the whole resort practically to ourselves. It is situated on the water so we enjoyed a morning walk around the property. The breakfast buffet was fabulous! I can't imagine what the resort is like during the summer, it must be crazy busy with the amusement park. But if I lived near, I would definitely take my grandkids for a couple of days.

On-site leisure options include 3 saunas, an outdoor hot tub and a beach. this is a camping resort. so, they are busy during vacation times i guess. when we went not so busy. we were only there one night as we were passing by. It reminded me of wolly world from chase vacation movies. the people there are very friendly.

Just tender your expectations, this is not a 5 star hotel but it is a wonderful getaway.
