I almost didn't want to do a review on the Thorn B&B because it was so perfect I wanted to keep it a secret 🤫 Gorgeous, quiet location. Great to have a whole little house all to ourselves. Lovely cooked breakfast hand delivered each morning. The lovely host, Alex, likes to deliver breakfast by 8am so if you want a lie in take some cereal or bread for toast and make your own in the little kitchen where a microwave, small fridge with chiller slot (not freezer), coffee machine, toaster and kettle are provided. There's also tea, coffee pods, condiments, jam and a big barrel of biscuits provided. Small living room with smart TV, cupboard that doubled up as a wardrobe and ironing board and iron home and dining table. Walk in shower was efficient and toiletries are provided. The bed was comfy and the bedroom was equipped with fans, electric blanket, hairdryer and straighteners! There wasn't a garden view in our lodge but there was a private drive that allowed us to take the car right up to the front door of the property which made unpacking a breeze. Away from the property there is a local pub 'The Three Tuns' which does a very nice meal. Not the cheapest place for food but if it is only a night or two then it's great. There is no shop of any kind in the village so stock up before you get there. Alex gave us a fabulous welcome with a little treat (I won't spoil the surprise) and nothing seemed too much trouble for him. If you want a relaxed, private experience then this is definitely the place for you.

The host was very welcoming upon arrival and showed us around, made us feel very comfortable. We were upgraded free of charge as the larger room was available. The whole house was very clean and comfortable and there was an excellent selection of continental breakfast items to choose from the morning after. We would visit again.

The property was really nice. Everything I need is all there. The room decoration is also nice. I like the atmosphere of shared kitchen and lobby. As I am new to this site, I don’t know what to do for entering in and how to use the facilities and so on and no receptionist to ask. But, When I texted to ask on the website, people there replied so quickly and I solved all the problem I had. They are so kind. The people there were are all nice to me. From the city side, which I have to go everyday, it’s a bit distant, but if you get a bicycle. That’s no problem at all. (I suppose there is some bus stop near there, but I am not so sure for that. Sorry for that.) Coop is located near the house. It was really convenient. At night, it’s really quiet. That’s good for sleep. There are sometimes car noise and the beep sound of door lock from outside, but it’s small and inevitable. So it’s totally fine. The price is really reasonable. I like this place.

The breakfast extremely tasty The rooms and bathrooms very comfortable, clean, nice and excellent equipped The location- just 15 minute walk from Cambridge center And there is free parking! If we return to Cambridge will be there again without doubt!
