The place is green, cool, and peaceful—you almost forget it’s in the middle of a busy city. It was my first time staying in a dorm, and it was great: only four beds, all clean, comfy, fragrant, and with curtains for privacy. There’s a guest kitchen, a drying area, and fast WiFi. Breakfast is made to order. I had banana pancakes with honey—delicious—plus a fruit platter and a choice of water, tea, or coffee. The bathroom is always clean and fresh, the toilet paper never runs out, and the scent is pleasant. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, polite, and full of smiles. Special thanks to Mas Wawan. The garden is lush and relaxing, and you can chill by the pool. I loved being able to escape the city’s noise in a place this comfortable.

As the area is realy nice I liked to walk all the way to the center, just avoid the main streets and it's a joy.

Can't get enough to see this lovely small place, beautiful surroundings by the greeneries and local life. Plants decorations are best. You'll feel like in your own home. Tiny gazebo was great idea to chill and relax after your full day trip. Hammock at the front was the cutest. You'll not find this anywhere else. The staff were great by explaining anything at this hostel. Coffee amenities are free, great idea for those who love to have a coffee in the morning time. Was great service in a budget hostel. Cool place!

However, the facilities were much cleaner and newer than I expected. It was the cleanest hostel I've stayed at in Indonesia. The host was also friendly and pleasant. Next time, I'll just stay overnight.

I’ve been staying at Abrakadabra for a week and am planning to stay more. As a female solo traveler, I’ve felt like it’s my own place, having privacy and security. The host is very kind and speaks good English. He served good breakfast at the requested time and helped me book affordable tours in Jogja. The place is cozy, clean, and very close to the city center with lots of good restaurants and places to visit around. There’s a beautiful rooftop surrounded by plants which is great for having a coffee and chilling out. I could also use the kitchen to cook for myself. If you’re lucky, you’ll encounter other guests to hang out with :)

My first stop in Java was Yogyakarta, and Huma was the very first hostel I stayed at in Indonesia. I honestly didn’t have high expectations as I'd heard stories about some hostels in Asia being barely decent. But Huma completely changed that for me. If anything, it raised the bar. I arrived sweaty and tired after walking from the train station in the heat, and the team welcomed me so kindly, it really made a difference. Check-in was smooth, and to my surprise, the hostel had just opened. Lucky me! The room was spotless, and the linens were super fresh. Big thanks to Dida and Grace (and other ladies) for all the tips and for patiently answering my million questions 😄 You both made my stay so much easier!
