I went in February which seemed to be the off season. There weren’t many people staying here. But Takamatsu seemed to be a little bit off the beaten path for the typical foreign travel route. This city has so much potential and I hope to see more people come here and stay at this hostel in the future! This hostel company has a few different hostels in the more popular parts of Japan, so perhaps they see the potential of this area as well. There was tons of great things to do around, I ended up island hopping and found so many cool things! This property was great and i really recommend it.

Despite being 6 years old, the property seems like it’s just opened! The dormitory still smells of wood. Everything is immaculate. The bathroom is very pleasant and modern, right next to the sleeping areas. There is a fun bar and communal area to hang out. There are only 6 beds in the dormitory. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The garden is lovely. The surrounding area is beautiful. Overall one of the best hostels I stayed in Japan.

I Shodoshima, 16 kilometer fra Cycad at Seiganji Temple, ligger Sen Guesthouse, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, et privat strandområde og en fellesstue. The hosts and other guests were very friendly and the accommodation is in a beautiful (albeit a little inconvenient to get to) location. The breakfast they offer is also delicious.

I Takamatsu, 6 minutters gange fra Takamatsu Museum of History and Folklore, ligger 御宿鷹柳, som har gratis sykler, gratis privat parkering, en hage og en fellesstue. Shin San is really knowledgeable of local culture and tradition and open to share with all guests. Very detail and helpful host. Coincidentally joined a bicycle trip he arranged with another guest, which happened to be a surprise and highlight of the stay in Takamatsu.
