The place itself is clean, comfortable, relaxing. The surrounding area is so beautiful and peaceful. Not many people with Many amazing beaches really close by. The people were fun and kind. Highly recommend and definitely want to come back! I think it’s the best place to experience the Amami life.

Really cute, comfortable and practical guest house, super nice owners. Also we felt Akune was a special place, creative, super relaxed and slow in a good way. Dont miss going to the local onsen. I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you!

I really liked the couple that run the place. They keep it so clean and the community room is very user-friendly. It was comfortable as a solo female traveler. It’s a great location, easy to walk to the airport, grocery store, and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

I Sekirubu, 3 minutters gange fra Tebiro-stranden, ligger ティダ民宿結の家, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og grillutstyr. The couple who run this guesthouse are very nice and welcoming. Everything is very clean. My single room had comfortable bed and a desk; bath is down the hall. The optional Japanese breakfast is highly recommended--tasty and filling. For other meals guests use microwave and hot-water kettle to fix their own food. Quiet location with the gentle sound of the surf. I am on a bicycle ride and found the location ideal: A day's ride from Amami via Route 81, then a loop to Kasarizaka Lighthouse at northern end of island, then a ride south on Route 58.

They’re not around all day but when they are, they’ve very welcoming and kind. Despite not speaking the same language, they made exceptional effort using google translate to support me. The scooter hire was considerably affordable and a great way to get around the island. Highly recommended!

Sakai Guest House AMAMI（堺ゲストハウス奄美） ligger i Setouchi, bare 42 kilometer fra Yanigawa Shopping Street og 50 kilometer fra Amami marine utstillingssenter. Staff was so nice! Got everything we needed and really enjoyed our stay in Setouchi :)

Hostel Tomal ligger i Kagoshima, under 1 kilometer fra Kagoshima City Museum of Art og 7 minutters gange fra Sengoku Tenjin. The classic Japanese style and very nice location

I Yoron, 0 minutters gange fra Chabana-stranden, ligger MEEDAFU'S YUI HOSTEL and COFFEE, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en restaurant. This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at! Run by the sweetest couple and their children, they really make you feel like family. It was always so clean and the cafe on the first floor was delicious. Kabuki is the best host ever, who will take you out on the best adventures and get great footage on his drone. I can’t wait to come back!!
