They were very friendly and accommodating. The room was great, plenty of room and it was quiet. Ideal as well, since it’s close to the shuttle bus going to the train station.

I recently stayed at a charming, family-run hostel located on Hai'an Street in Tainan, and it was an exceptional experience. The hostel's location is ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions and an abundance of delicious food options just a short walk away. One of the highlights of my stay was the presence of three lovely cats that added a warm, homely touch to the environment. The hostel itself offers great amenities, including a sundeck, a terrace, and a peaceful courtyard where guests can relax. The dorm rooms are thoughtfully designed with curtains, ensuring privacy for each guest. The owner and her family were incredibly friendly and caring, always ready to share stories, offer suggestions, and make sure guests feel at home. The owner, who is also a knowledgeable indigo dyeing teacher, brought a unique cultural aspect to my stay, making it even more memorable. The hostel also provided tea and coffee-making equipment, along with some snacks prepared by the owner. The tiled floors and tasteful decor complemented the overall cozy atmosphere. If you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Tainan, this hostel is a fantastic choice.

The location was ok for me as close to my friends, but not sure it is convenient for a general tourist, Although described as a youth hostel, I had a very nice room (albeit with the bed in an alcove) with water and tissues supplied and a very nice shower and bathroom. Very clean. The staff were very helpful

מקום האירוח Old Man Captain בטאינאן הוא מקום אירוח למבוגרים בלבד עם טרקלין משותף וטרסה. Absolutely the best and most thoughtful hostel I've stayed in from my years of visiting Taiwan! The owner knows what backpackers need, especially towards those who don't understand Mandarin. All the signs and notices are in English. Cute little cards in bilingual about different popular destinations in Tainan, making transportation for foreigners in Taiwan a tad bit easier. Very thoughtful! There are also free activities each night, and I had so much fun learning how to roast your own coffee beans and also make some friends along the way. The owner would also provide lots of good tips and suggestions for visiting Tainan, so don't miss out on the 1st night like I did. Location, location, location. Can't get better location than right next to train station. And it is very funny that the entrance is inside a convenient store, watching shoppers wondering about this mysteries orange door of hostel gave me quite a chuckle. IONIC HAIR DRYER IS A GOD SEND!! My messy short hair can finally have 2 good days during my trip lol. Free washing machine with detergent provided, and NTD$50 for dryer. Shampoo and shower gel are also provided. Fridge, coffee machines, free tea bags, free simple breakfast. I feel like got way more than I paid for. Bunk bed with curtains, personal lockers , lockable dorm room, separate bathroom for ladies and gents. Earplugs, toothbrush and towel for NTD$20 if needed. 10 out of 10 would stay here again next time I visit Tainan!
