Located in Austin's oldest standing fire station, this unique hostel offers conveniences such as free WiFi. The Texas Capitol Building is 0.5 miles away. I stayed for F1, and everyone who stayed in the same room had the same purpose. So I went it together and had a good experience. It would have been a shame if it wasn't for this hostel. The location was very good, affordable, and clean. It was convenient because each bed included a fan, a light, and a shelf. I was worried when I saw the review that bedbugs came out, but I'm glad it didn't happen.

I had to complete the online check-in twice and never received any confirmation email or the door codes. There were cockroaches on the floor, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The bed was uncomfortable and disgusting. Most of the guests looked like homeless people, and I genuinely felt unsafe during my stay. One positive note: the lady working there was helpful and opened my door in the middle of the night when it accidentally locked after I went to the bathroom. Other than that, it was a terrible experience. This place is not safe, not clean, and definitely not worth the price.
