A normal, chaotic big African city - more expensive than most. Relatively safe to walk around downtown during the day; take care at night. If you need to be there for business, it's better than many 3rd world cities. For tourism, not much to see/do in Luanda. Airports are normal: Completely chaotic

Luanda is growing fast transforming into attractive place for visitors and businessmen. Museums are good enough, but there are only a few of them. Unfortunately criminal activity is also growing so be careful avoiding be robbed.

It is expensive but they gave us a tremendous value by upgrading our room. I have never seen staff so friendly and kind. They are attentive without being intrusive, willing to do anything to make us comfortable and safe. The restaurants and breakfast are very nice. I hope I will have the opportunity to stay here again.

Very nice staff at the entrance of the building who helped me with telephone calls and Portuguese. Just a couple of blocks from the Marginal beach walk.
