Built circa 1900 and located only a stone-throw away from Goolwa Wharf and main street precincts; Addie's Place has been home to Goolwa's Smith family for over 100 years (on and off). Having undergone significant restoration and renovation in 2016, we now invite your family to share in some of our history and explore the attractions that Goolwa has to offer. Addie's is stocked with breakfast provisions of bread, milk, cereal, spreads, tea, coffee and sugar.
We, Peter and Sandra Smith, have a passion for history and the local area and are pleased to be able to share a part of our history with you, our guests. Having lived in the town for close to 50 years, we have strong connections within the local community. We have owned and managed several local businesses and raised our family here.
Bordered by the magnificent Southern Ocean & where the River Murray meets the sea, Goolwa is surrounded by outstanding natural features close to wineries, surf beaches , tranquil waters suitable for sailing, skiing, fishing and kayaking. In the town itself there are numerous cafes, restaurants, hotels and places to wine and dine. For those interested in history and further exploring the local area, there are nature walks, the Steamranger Heritage Railway, bike tracks, Sunday markets, art galleries and much more It truly is a place to lay back and enjoy life.
