Picturesque and perfectly positioned in the Alpine foothills, this High Country luxury lodge can sleep up to eight guests . In Winter, the view of snow capped Mt Timbertop is visible from the verandah as sundowners of sparkling wine produced from the established vineyard grapes are enjoyed. Altitude221 offers personalised service and experiences. Dining choices include self catered, Cook a Box comprising locally sourced produce which is a great option for families and those who enjoy cooking. A visiting chef for a fine dining experience is also available with one month’s lead time during peak periods necessary. Do let us know at the time of booking if there are any special dietary requirements. Some of the on site activities include a 9 hole hub and spoke golf course (pitch and putt), tennis, swimming, petanque, croquet, cycling, painting in the vines and star gazing from the Celestron telescope. External activities can also be arranged. Altitude 221 is an amazing picturesque property.The former cellar door houses the very spacious Bellini and Mimosa suites that overlook an established elevated garden with views of the golf green, vineyard and small lake wher Swans often visit The spacious self contained suites include a Queen and King bed, side tables, chest of drawers and mirrors The ensuite bathrooms comprises free standing high back baths, rain showers and double vanitys. A kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and small appliances are also provided. The staircase leads to a loft with stunning views of Kate Cameron where the many from Snowy River was filmed. Reverse cycle air conditioning/heating is available throughout. Between the Bellini and Mimosa suites is a living area that includes a French Provencal dining suite and a modern fully equipped kitchen with an island bench that makes for easy dinning. A fine bone china Narumi dinner service and the latest appliances are provided.
Sally and Gavan look forward to getting to know you and learning about your life experiences. We hope to communicate the passion we have gained from owning and operating unique and stunning roperties in London, Dubai, and a 248 year old French chalet in the Alpine village of Morzine. We also both worked for the Emirates Airline Group for almost 14 years and other Airlines including Ansett, KLM UK and Air Asia. Our two youngest children were born in Dubai. We love horses. Cookie, Heartbeat, Fred and Gingera re provided witrh supplements to aid their nutrintion every afternoon around 5 which guests are always welcome to be involved with. Keeping fit and active is important so Tennis, Swimming and hub and spoke golf on a 9 hole course is available for all guests to enjoy. Two lucky individula have received a ceramic mini car for a hole in one. Nature abounds with birdlife and our small black angus herd. A vineyard planted 25 years ago continues to produce award winning wines, At the 2023 Rutherglen Wine show our Pinot Meunier grapes won a gold medal, the Pinot Noir a Bronze. The Sparkling Wine formerly known as Don Kinloch Sparkling was voted the best Victorian Sparkling Wine at Federation Square in 2010. You can ride an E-bike, play Boules, paint in the Vines and endeavour to establish the names of the constellations above using the Celestron telescope and Ipad to identify the image presented on the Pilot's Pinot Noir label which were referenced to the GPS co ordinates above the golf green.
There is so much to do in the local area. Lake Eildon for boating endeavours, resturants , coffee shops and of course snow skiing at Mt Buller in season which is just 25 minutes to the mountain entance from our front door.
