The entire township of Loch Sport runs on either tank water or bore water, thankfully the Beachouse runs on tank water, and I ask each guest to be water conservative. Loch Sport is 3 hours from Melbourne via the M1 “Loch Sport is where magic happens”. The area is 10 degrees warmer than Melbourne in winter and 10 degrees cooler in summer. This is referred to as a "foehn effect" producing high winter temperatures. For this reason Loch Sport is "titled" Victoria’s Riviera. It is a fisherman/boating town and has 2 boat ramps. Lake's main catch is Gippsland Bream (big bream), Flatties, Whiting, Mullet, Salmon and Tailor. Gummy Sharks, Salmon Mullet, Flatties and Tailor are other common species off the surf. Every now and then, some lucky fishermen land Mulloway, Snapper and even Tuna off this famous fishing beach. Anglers and surfers are prevalent along the surf beach and along with family vacationers during the summer. Loch Sport also offers a Marina, RSL, cafés, pizza and fish and chip shop, supermarket, 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, public picnic areas with BBQs and children’s playground (and recently added skateboard half pipe and ramps) and a Nursery.
