Our spacious accommodation area is located on a separate floor of our home and has two rooms, a bedroom and a dining room. It looks out directly to Bass Strait with excellent views of the ocean. We are located just 5 minutes drive from the Burnie city centre where there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and tourist attractions. We are also located a short drive from where you can view the fairy penguins (mainly from October to late March) and you may even get to see a platypus at Fernglade located just 10 minutes from our home. The property is also located a short distance from a supermarket, schools, TAFE and the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH).
Helen and I have been welcoming guests to our property since 2016 and we enjoy meeting people from all over the world. There's lots to see in North West Tasmania and we look forward to helping you make the most of your trip. We live at the property and are generally on hand to assist where needed and can also provide local information and suggestions on things to do. Please don't be shy and do come and talk to us. We've both traveled extensively within Australia and overseas and enjoy activities such as bicycle riding and walking.
Our property is located in the Parklands area of Burnie, as the name suggests, located near the picturesque Burnie Park. The Parklands area is located 5 minutes drive from the city centre or approximately 20-30 minutes walk through Burnie Park. It is a quiet neighbourhood with excellent views of Bass Strait. The Burnie city centre has numerous restaurants including seafood, pizza, Italian, Indian, Thai and Chinese food. There are also numerous cafes to choose from. You can also access the follow by car within 5-10 minutes from our property:- * IGA supermarket * TasTAFE Burnie campus * North West Regional Hospital * Hellyer College Burnie also has various tourist attractions for the visitor including:- * Hellyers Road Distillery (Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky) * Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden * Fern Glade Platypus Reserve * Guide Falls Reserve * Burnie Park (located a short walk from our property) * Burnie Penguin Observation Centre * Burnie Regional Museum * Burnie Regional Art Gallery
