We wanted a rural property that was still close to town. Cabrito was perfect. We had beautiful views and it was quiet. The space was perfect for two couples. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have encountered.

This quaint miners cottage is situated on half an acre of cottage style gardens offering guests privacy and tranquillity. Accommodating up to four guests, Cabrio offers open plan living and dining and a fully equipped kitchen. Overlooking the garden, the living area features a cosy wood fire as well as split system heating and cooling. Relax on the wrap around verandah and take in views of the Wombat State Forest, the neighbouring vineyard and the passing kangaroos. The property is dog friendly and whist mostly fenced it is not entirely secure.

The Daylesford-Hepburn Region is famous for its mineral waters and is known as the Spa Centre of Australia. Our beautiful scenery includes the famous Lake Daylesford, the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens and the Wombat State Forest. There are historic buildings in the main street of Daylesford and the region’s history lies in the rush for gold. Lake Daylesford now covers land upon which gold was first discovered and offers lakeside picnic spots, cafes, walking tracks, fishing and pedal boating. The internationally known Lake House sits on its shores and there are public BBQ facilities and amenities adjacent to the main parking area. Lake Jubilee is located south of Daylesford (about a 10-15 minute drive) and is ideal for fishing, boating and swimming. If you are looking for a waterfall, visit Sailor’s Falls, less than 30 minutes south from the Daylesford Town Centre. If you are into the outdoors, Daylesford sits at the junction of three walking trails that are part of the Great Dividing Trail – the Lerderderg Track, the Dry Diggings Track and the Wallaby Track. The Hepburn Regional Park is a little less challenging and contains mineral springs and relics of the bygone gold era.
