Great Mackerel Beach is a 10 minute boat / ferry / water taxi ride from Sydney's Palm Beach. It is water-access only, and is a beautiful hamlet undisturbed by cars and other modes of traffic. It is a the intersection between Ku-ring-Gai National Park and Pittwater. The hamlet doesn't have any shops, cafes or restaurant, but these facilities are a short 10 minute ferry ride across where you have world class dining at Palm Beach. PS. We can also arrange a 'Sherpa' / carrier service in case you want to pre-order food supplies / drinks to be brought up prior to your arrival for a small fee. Most guests don't use this service, but we are happy to help when / if the need arises (it does take some pre-planning re: online deliveries and from a co-ordination perspective).
