Surrounded by trees and in the heart of the forest yet less than 10 minutes to Daylesford, Edessa Lodge is the ideal escape for guests wanting to get away from it all. This 2-bedroom 2 level rustic property at Wheatsheaf has a warming wood fireplace, kitchenette with microwave, coffee plunger and a wonderful relaxing lounge with TV and bathroom all on the ground level. Upstairs we have two queen bedrooms and an additional toilet. With its own entry, the property is attached to the owner’s residence yet giving you privacy to enjoy the surrounds. Edessa Lodge has an under cover outdoor area, BBQ and a dam that you can walk down to and can feed the ducks. Situated in one of the most beautiful parts of central Victoria you are close to both Daylesford and the village of Glenlyon with its wonderful old-world café. The Daylesford-Hepburn Region is famous for its mineral waters and is known as the Spa Centre of Australia. Our beautiful scenery includes the famous Lake Daylesford, the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens and the Wombat State Forest. There are historic buildings in the main street of Daylesford and the region’s history lies in the rush for gold. Lake Daylesford now covers land upon which gold was first discovered and offers lakeside picnic spots, cafes, walking tracks, fishing and pedal boating. The internationally known Lake House sits on its shores and there are public BBQ facilities and amenities adjacent to the main parking area. Lake Jubilee is located south of Daylesford (about a 10-15 minute drive) and is ideal for fishing, boating and swimming. If you are looking for a waterfall, visit Sailor’s Falls, less than 30 minutes south from the Daylesford Town Centre. If you are into the outdoors, Daylesford sits at the junction of three walking trails that are part of the Great Dividing Trail – the Lerderderg Track, the Dry Diggings Track and the Wallaby Track. The Hepburn Regional Park is a little less challenging and contains mineral springs and relics of the bygone gold era.
